Well even Toc was stuck in a Rent and he came out and he's not even nearly as powerful as Tay. Of course Toc came out only when Togg possessed him

My money for the next big character to die will be on Skinner, taken out in a kick-ass battle with Second.
Only we'll get to learn more of Skinner first, get to actually like him, then BLAM he kick's the bucket!!

Nah, I reckon Skinner will be a major player in the CG's arsenal in the final book, so I don't see him dying anytime soon.

MM, OK, it's possible, but i think Skinners' demise makes room for Kallor.

Second guess then, Mappo (sorry) to be killed by Icarum, The plot -

Mappo lost Icarum, travels vast distances to return to his friends side. Icarum's memory loss results in him not really remembering Mappy, Icarum 'loses it' and Mappo dies defending some innocents against Icarums rage? Icarum remembers who Mappy is just before the end and crys like a baby with mappy in his arms as he takes his last breath. Pulitzer prize or wot!!

Nah it seems too clichè for SE. If Mappo is going to die(and it's possible) it would be well before he meets Icarium. Anyway I think Cotillion is a likely favourite for the place in TCG.I mean: it seems ridiculus that HHS always win and something tells me that SE will not kill ST because in the end he will achieve his masterplan, with or without Cotillion

I still reckon Karsa
For the shock value alone

"Witness! i will kill you all!" "Buddy, get with reality, your head was severed from your shoulders 3 days ago and you are in the new realm of death nailed to a tree"
Would be surprising..... Though somehow i think Karsa will play a roll in the Tyrants return. His mission to kill everyone just as the Tyrant and the Seguleh show up.

It's going to be Adjunct Tavore...

Maybe Apsalar will go down for Cutter...or the other way around.

Maybe, but that would be an entirely different sort of book... :p

Cheap romance, you mean?

Tavore, I believe, will die at the end, in some huge gesture of sacrifice. OK, sounds cliched but I can't imagine her dying until the last minute.

Who thinks Samar Dev could die? Personally, i don't. She'll probably go back at the end of the books to make more gadgets.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

How about Hellian going next? the Bonehunters are heading out into unknown lands right, there's plenty of civilisations out there but the inhabitants are all T'Totals and have never brewed beer. She goes crazy looking for beer and starts killing indescriminatley. Until she explodes in frustration of not being able to get drunk :harhar:

something tells me that the deaths in DoD are gonna be few, far between and obscure. we'll see some secondary charactrers kick the bucket but not many major players
