Yeah, way back when they announced the fact that they were shooting a WA episode in New York...I think way back in January-ish when it was being shot...DW fandom (including us on our Podcast) speculated this would be the case, and it makes sense because someone would ALWAYS be looking at her.

Yeah, it looks REALLY good!

Love that live from Amy "you see, this is what happens when you travel for too long alone"

Last night they posted a promo pic (the Doctor carrying Amy through the Dalek Carnage) and I immediately made it my desktop....and then I actually stayed up until 1AM (which would be 6AM in the UK) when the trailer was posted.

It was fucking totally worth the loss of sleep!

Tonight BFI screened the premiere of the 1st ep of the new Series of DW (with all cast and crew in tow....and a few things have dropped:

All the titles for the first 5 eps:

Asylum of the Daleks, written by Steven Moffat, directed by Nick Hurran
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, written by Chris Chibnall, directed by Saul Metzstein
A Town called Mercy, written by Toby Whithouse, directed by Saul Metzstein
The Power of Three, written by Chris Chibnall, directed by Douglas Mackinnon
The Angels take Manhattan, written by Steven Moffat, directed by Nick Hurran

The other thing being that each title sequence is going to be different and tailored for each episode's subject matter.

No word on when the first ep will premiere on TV, but moffat says it will be SOON...I'm hoping for the 25th or sooner.

We are heading up to Mrs. QT's family country home (it can't properly be called a cottage, it's too extravagant) this weekend and I was concerned we'd not be able to watch DW as it premieres...but I've learned that said country home has satellite TV (I've been there like 6 times, and yet I never knew that). We are golden for Saturday night. YES!

I thought the 3rd one was lackluster compared to the first two, but still... Ood on the loo.

They re playing all of S6 this fri and I'm DVRn it. I'm just hoping our power doesn't get knocked out tonight with Issac hovering over us.

BK, If you've not watched Series 2 onwards...don't watch Series 6 first...it's the least good season of the lot first of all...watch them in order from Series 2 onwards otherwise a lot of Series 6 won't make too much sense either.

Plus Series 2-5 are the best.

2-5 are Tennants right?

How many epi a season anyway?

No, Series 2-4 + The 2009 Specials are Tennant's....Series 5-> is Matt Smith.

Each Series is around 12-13 eps, and the 2009 Specials series has 5 eps (with the last two being Tennant's swan song (THE END OF TIME PI and II))

So not too too much to catch up with, but I highly recommend watching 2-5 before 6.

Am sad. :)

Definitely the best of the 5 eps. And it really shows how ON Matt Smith can be as the character, as I think his performance here is simply wonderful.

After watching a few of the specials on BBC America in the past few weeks, my wife and I have decided to check this show out. I've been aware of Doctor Who for awhile (my wife is a scifi/fantasy infidel that I've been slowly converting), but was never too interested in it until recently. We'll be watching season six tomorrow while painting the living room (yay, time to get high on paint fumes!); we'll see how that goes. I'd like to get around to watching the other seasons, but my wife really likes the current cast from what she's seen so far.

I like the way the Daleks are still referred to as 'the most technologically advanced warriors in the universe', only minutes after the Dr took the 'lid' of one of them and put it into reverse :)
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.
