Favorite charachters are Kalam and Quick ben

Like kalam cause he has no superpowers like most other chars, he relies on skill and his strenght, Quick ben cause he is more like the same, uses his brain more then just destroying everything(though I like how he blasted the nahruk legions in DoD ). I only hope we can see a reunion between quick and kalam in the last book and them 2 fighting or doing bad things togheter Posted Image

favorite scene with kalam is probably kalam fighting the claw in malaz.

favorite with quick ben, well there is many but him sneaking into broach and co and there conversation and then blasting them both, was just great.

I am definately a karsa fanboi...

"Karsa's expression soured. 'When i began this journey, I was youg. I believed in one thing. I believed in glory. I know now, 'Siballe, that glory is nothing. Nothing. This is what I now Understand."

"What else do you now understand, Karsa Orlong?"

"Not much. Just one other thing. The same cannot be said for mercy." He raised her higher, then swung her body outward.

Next up Itkovian-
After gaining the Imass pain

'We humans do not understand compassion. In each moment of our lives, we betray it. Aye, we know of its worth, yet in knowing we then attach to it a value, we guard the giving of it, believing it must be earned. T'lan Imass. Compassion is priceless in the truest sense of the word. It must be given freely. In abundance."

I really like both of these scenes

Fav Sceene, probably Kalem on his last legs showing the claw who's the daddy! or maybe the end of the BridgeBurners at Black Coral.

Fav characters are the old school Bridgeburners, Fiddler, Quick, Kalem etc. but if i had to pick one it's Fiddler, tough as an old boot, but gives a shit :)

Favourite scene would have to be the siege of Capustan.
just,so many awesome moments in that entire sequence.
but Brukhalian departing to the Thrall with the remaining 400 (I believe that was the number) Grey Swords, as they rode into an ambush...it was just such a scene...

My favorite character in the series is by far Kallor.

Favorite scenes I have 2. The first is when QB drops Kallor down the hole on MOI. Then him and WJ are talking crap....until they notice how quickly Kallor is climbing back out of the hole and they scurry off.

The second was the end of DG,when the wickan lady is getting ready to abort her child. Then she looks up and the sky is just full of crows. Gave me goosebumps.

This amused me... The thought that while Sand is freaking out to Withal over Nimander and the others being useless and weak, the characters in question are either getting ready to, or have, pounded on Bastion without injury. Helpless indeed >.>

I thought i had experienced so much emotion in life till i read the part in MOI with brukhulain and his men marching on Rath Fener's command to betrayal. I hope someone can quote the paragraph when he responds to his second's sorrow abt the betrayal that itkhovian shall be thier vengeful hand and then the second leaves the formation and begins his defiant warriors dance. I was overcome with such joy, sadness and a sense of violent victory that i wept and danced myself. It hasn't happened since but I thank SE tremendously for that.

Its not so much a scene as an episode but the siege of Capustan has an awesomeness-factor of +10 with icing on top.

As for characters i must say i'm a huge fan of Toc the Younger. I dont even have a particular reason for it, i just plain like him. A close second is Ganoese Paran, the two are very similar so its perhaps not so surprising they top my list together.

Yep Toc and Paran are quality. Toc edges it just with the scenes with Tool and Lady Envy.

All the Bridgeburners are cool but if youv got to pick one guy its got to be Baudin. the man was a animal, ruthless and cunning he edges toc on sheer nastiness.

Baudin was never a bridgeburner, he was a talon

yea I know. Was on a type fast. Just saying you could pick any of the BB they all (pretty much) have a fair shout for best character. Even though you don't read to much about them individually you look forward to spindle's hairshirt being set on fire or blend pulling a fast one or Trotts being a nasty bastard.

Any ideas who the other talon is with the bonehunters

For me the best scene, and will probably be it forever, is when the tiste edur assault the throne of the tlan imass and Icarium goes apeshit on everyone except Trull.
Close runner up is the "graveyard" part with Itkovianin capustan.

favourite Characters would have to go to Quick Ben.

One of my recent favorite "Arrogant Elders going WTF?!?!" moments is when Mael is telling Kilmandaros about the death of Hood, and tell's her ST and Cot were present...Killys reaction was gold :(

I think I've settled on Hedge as my favourite character. Especially in DoD. I mean, Fidd is blanking him because he can't cope with him being alive again, QB is... annoyed at him being alive again. Instead of getting mopey and emo about it, he just carries on being cheerful Hedge and finding a solution to the munitions shortage. It also seems he gives his misfit squad more happiness than they've known before.

Favourite scenes... oh come on, let me reread the series a dozen more times, and maybe I can then narrow it down to a dozen or so. I'll try and mention some off the top of my head:

- Hood giving the guard back his life. The first time we ever really humanity in Hood's persona. ..EDIT: lies, he's quite nice to Beak in RG I guess.
- When Karsa proclaims his friendship to Torvald before they part ways.
- At the end of HoC, when Fiddler realises that Hedge and the Bridgeburners continue to exist in some capacity.
- The collection of scenes in tBH where Corabb joins and then becomes on of the Malazans.
- The last 200 pages of every book, but I'll choose tBH as the best - the entire conclusion in Malaz, especially as in my head I could imagine Fiddler's music playing over the whole thing.

Um.. and many more.

Quick Ben for sure, the scene in TBH when Tavore's fleet meets the Edur fleet. Bottle shines there aswell, but Quick rocks em with the all-or-nothing wall of destruction bluff.
Excellent thread by the way, bringing back many memorable, ehh, memories <img src="http://forum.malazanempire.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

For me it is just after this as the boats are passing with in site of each other and one marine waves and then gets cuffed by his Sargent....i laughed for days...

Rereading is great, now HoC and one of best scenes:

Tiste Liosan got almost Ranalled by cusser and decides, that Gesler and Stormy wasnt invading their warren and in fact, "its that great bone dragon fault, yes Brother? Better to hunt him" :()

Character:
Quick Ben, Gruntle and Hellian

Scene:
Much as I love Quick Ben him being knocked out by Fiddler was one of my favourite moments. Of course, if we get a full reveal about what he's about then I'll have to change my vote to that.

I'm waiting to see Gruntle fighting when fully awakened since I reckon it's a bit more than simply veering into a tiger

favorite scene is probably when the Guards force their way into Tehol's house, and he pulls out a naked chicken and says "i wasnt expecting the ransom anyway" or something to that effect, favorite character is definately Karsa, he's badass!

Favourite scenes: first appearance of a Forkrul Assail, later to be known as Calm. She was captured beneath a rock and freed by Karsa and his warparty. That was really an awesome foreshadowing./ Kalam, Tavore and Tamber discussing after the meeting with the Empress in TBH, the following fight and later Icariums "demonstration".:D

Favourite chars.: New to the Forum and haven't read those names yet: Telorast and Curdle, not main chars, but funny as hell.
Main chars are Kalam Mekhar, Ben Delat.
And overshadowing them all is Helian, to me even more hilarious than Tehol.
...yet he could feel the pounding of his heart, rising like wardrums, with songs of fire.

My favorite scene was the unleashing of the Cedance in MT and the throne room showdown. That felt so epic and the conclusion was so unexpected.

My favorite character was Duiker. I feel like he's just so thematic of the MBotF as a whole, and his PoV is just so well written and believable.
