Portuguese Game of Thrones... Perhaps the most boring cover of all time.

I'm sorry, I still can't get over Servants of the Wankh.
I'm in my 30's and that kind of juvenile stuff still makes me laugh!
As for SE's books, all I can say is thank all that is good in this world that I have the non-US ones.

Man, you americans REALLY get the worst covers, don't you! I thought I was unlucky with my cheap-looking uk cover of tBH which seemed to feature a strangely proportioned "Kalam" fighting against Darth Sidious and his stunt double.

Lets face it, if you go to the book store and you scan the science-fiction section, I think it's difficult to find book covers that don't suck.
"Ignoring him, she stepped back out of the ellipse and began singing in the Woman's Language, which was, of course, unintelligible to Iskaral's ears. Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women."

I don't mind the MT one so much... but is the guy on the left holding a raygun or something?

Uhm....for the MT cover, they stole those characters from Elizabeth Haydon's Rhapsody cover. I smell a lawsuit brewing.

It would seem that many bookcovers are recycled. We know that Eriksons books have also used Glen Cook book covers. It's probably something about publishers rights to the artists work or something.

I actually really like the drawn member of those crazy jester knight guys!!! I always liked the idea of that company of baddies!! Heh.
As for the Bonehunters one up there, with the falling over caravan thing, I love the guy who's falling out of the driver's seat, he looks like he's trying to JIVE! LoL. He's all like "Oh shiiiittt, better JIVE my way outta this!!! Ow, ow, ow, ow stayin' alive!" and all that jazz... *snerk*

Not to thread crap any more, but seriously, who the hell are they using in place of Grunthor and Achmed? Am I missing someone in the book that even vaguely resembles those two characters (physically on the cover that is).

It's probably not a rip-off. It'll be something like the publishers owning the rights to the picture, and saving themselves money by using photoshop instead of commissioning a new piece of art (or using existing images to spruce up a piece of art that didn't work out).
At the end of the day, most people would not notice, and if US fantasy covers have taught us anything, it's that publishers don't give a rat's arse whether or not the cover is an accurate reflection of the contents.
