Who sent the Hounds of Light?

We know WHY the HoL showed up in TtH, but who do you think sent them? The Liosan is my bet....for no reason.
Unless, of course, they are autonomous, like the Deragoth.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

It says their "Master" sent them to get Dragnipur. So either some Liosan equivalent of Tulas Shorn, me thinks, or maybe Father Light himself.

Well, they're clearly not autonomous, it's mentioned very obviously that they have a master.
Someone light-related, most likely whoever sits on the Throne of Light.
We know from RotCG that

, but considering how little we know of the Liosan, that doesn't tell us a vast amount. Almost certainly a character we've never heard of, let alone seen.

I agree. And the way he/she wasn't even mentioned might indicate that SE doesn't even know yet. Although, having said that, SE is a genius and probably knows everything already.

Who knows ?
Maybe Osric isn't the only son of Father Light ?
Or maybe Father Light himself sended them ?

That we know off. Technically all the Andii are her sons/daughters, Rake, Ruin and Rist are just the ones with most of her blood running through them. If that can even be used.
And I'm still remembering the line in MT about Brother Light being trapped in the moon in the Edur legend. If he ain't Osric or FL, then Osric has a stepbrother...
After all, the Hounds came from the Moon, so maybe their master is there anyway? Not necessarily trapped, but was there for some reason.
And SE said that Grallin wasn't important.

It's a trap!!
But really, this is a fairluy easy answer - someone we've never heard of
Unless it was ST of course, double-double-bluffing!

He also said the Hounds of Light didn't exist
I can see SE, thinking to himself: "Wow, won't everyone be pissed when the Hounds of Light show up with Grallin!"
It MIGHT be someone we've never heard of, but I'd be surprised. SE threw a lot of new names at us in the Andii flashbacks in TtH, I'd be surprised if he came up with a new Liosan just to be a master of the HoL. As much as I dislike it, their master is probably Osric.

Well dude. The master of the HoS only showed up in TTH and we had no idea anyone like Tulas even existed until then. It's entirely possible we'll see another light dude. Plus, the moon just blew up so if he WAS trapped in the moon, he's out now!... or dead.
Also. Gralin?

He was the Lord of The Moon mentioned in GotM... God there was some amount of speculation he was FL or the CG or both lol

Cecil is the coolest character for sures. *nods*
I also think that it's Father Light, but I don't think that Osserc is Father Light.

Aye. The problem with Osric being Father Light is that Rake or Ruin or Andarist would KNOW. They were around for the birth of Shadow and for Mother Dark getting her funk on with Father Light. I can't see Rake being all friendly with Osric, with their constant battles where neither die and their travels earlier, if Osric was the reason Ano lost his mother and home-realm.

Whoever it was, they probably weren't *literally* trapped in the moon. More like the moon was just a warding apparatus or some crazy thing...
Edit: Hey, what if it was Menandore who sent them?

I don't remember any of the sisters surviving the Refugium... so I doubt that.

Well, people have been known to return from the dead in MBotF, so I wouldn't exclude Menandore. Not very likely, though.

They were ripped apart and blown up. If, to say one of their souls found a new host or something, I don't think they'll be up to anything nasty any time soon.
Besides this, the Sisters aren't in control of the HoL, if they had been they'd have used them in RG.
It's an unlikely crazy theory and I was just noting that the Sisters were dead, there is no chance that they are connected with the new Hounds.

The sisters are dead. Period. Battered, blown, breakfast on toast. Dapple darling could slice her bare hand right through a soletaken's heavy hide, but for all her deitified prowess, they could be bombed to the stone age by a mere mortal.
If there were no smart people others wouldn't feel inadequate.
Right?
Right?
