I don't have regular TV at the moment, and was wondering if there was a way I'd be able to watch these still. So you do think they would post them on Itunes for download? Never thought about that.
"Ignoring him, she stepped back out of the ellipse and began singing in the Woman's Language, which was, of course, unintelligible to Iskaral's ears. Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women."

HBO's relationship with iTunes is a bit random. Some series they wait until the whole season is broadcast and then put the episodes up, others they put them up just a few days after transmission.
More here on Sky Atlantic, the new channel which will be carrying Game of Thrones in the UK. Encouragingly, they report they hope to show new shows ASAP after American transmission.

I've tried to keep myself away from stuff about this series, but the buzz is growing so I had to check out the trailer and making of video.
Wow.
Peter Dinklage as Tyrion = win.
Sean Bean as Ned = a level of win that may fry your screen in HD.
Even having read the books multiple times, I still can't wait to watch.

OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

What does "winter is coming" mean?
It's means the foreplay is over and Winter will need a cigarette in a few minutes.
....or it's a line from the books...

ADWD is just about done. I'm hoping for a completion announcement before the TV series starts (actually around New Year's, but with all of GRRM's estimates tripling them is usually a good idea). The thread in the book forum is better for that discussion, however.
Oh Wert... your hope springs enternal...
Glorious trailer. So psyched for this.
Am curious to see if they actually work in the dragons.

More than her last pov. It's actually the very last chapter of the book. So no dragons until the end of the season.

There is a part in the 10 min clip of Dany holding up an egg, but I dont think they will show it till the episode 12 finale since that was I think her last POV in the first book?
That's from Episode 1. Illyrio gives her the eggs as a wedding gift and she later looks at one just before or after her wedding to Khal Drogo (which is happening on the beach outside Pentos in the TV series).
There are 10 episodes in Season 1, not 12.

Of course I'm sure all episodes will put up on certain less-than-reputable websites that I shall not talk about here. *cough*torrents*cough*

There seem to be no lack of lame dragon fx on various shows lately (Primieval, Merlin) - hopefully GoT will do better.

The Dragons will likely appear, the huge skull in the Red Keep is visible as a setpiece in one of the production photo's.

Season 1 of GAME OF THRONES has wrapped shooting. Post-production is already well-underway on earlier episodes, with editing, scoring and CGI work currently underway,
Next important date is 7 January, when HBO present the show on the American Television Critcs' Associaton Winter Tour press junket thing. There's going to be a big panel featuring Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, producers David Benioff, Dan Weiss and George R.R. Martin, possibly others, and some additional footage should be shown. The series itself is scheduled to begin airing on HBO in April. The precise date is not confirmed, but given TRUE BLOOD's debut date in June, it'll probably be either 3 or 10 April 2011.
Meanwhile, the production crew are already beginning preliminary work on Season 2, which will be based on the novel A CLASH OF KINGS (GAME OF THRONES remains the overall series title, however). Whilst S2 has not been officially greenlit, the tight turn-around which HBO wants for the second season means that a lot of contingency work will have to be done so they can begin work almost immediately after a potential greenlight is given in April.

A Game of Thrones sounds more epic and A Song of Ice and Fire is to vague? Maybe? Not to mention the name "A Game of Thrones" could pretty much cover the whole series as it is.

I'm not even aware why the series is named "A Song of Ice and Fire"...do you know? I could take a few guesses is I broke it down, but I wasn't sure if there was some profound, established meaning behind the name.

Ah makes sense, I completely forgot that part in the book. Guess I'll need to reread that as well haha

HBO have put up a new video about the use of armour in the show. Interestingly, this is our first good look at Loras Tyrell, plus some more shorts of Gregor and Sandor Clegane and Jaime Lannister. Plus we have our first very brief shot of Barristan Selmy towards the end.

15 minutes of footage from GAME OF THRONES, including several complete scenes, where shown at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press junket in LA last night. Two reactions, plus a chat with GRRM who was present (nothing book-related, it was mostly TV stuff).
The overall reaction seems to have been overwhelmingly favourable. HBO will be releasing a number of new screenshots to coincide with the event at some point over the weekend (possibly tonight). There's also a panel featuring several actors (Bean, Dinklage, Clarke), GRRM and the producers tonight, details of which should be forthcoming.
