Why, oh why is march so far away?

I mean, I looked forward to Stargate Universe before it came on. I looked forward to The Walking Dead (which is grade "a" awesome!) But this? I don't think I've ever looked forward to a series this much since I was waiting for Farscape season 4!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Shit I hate being nitpicky but why did they leave out Dany's Targ eyes? Its her heritage and I wouldev thought they would do it, but no her eyes looked blue in the trailer. Is no one else irked? I am so looking foward to seeing this though!

Apparently several colourings and colour-schemes from the books were screen-tested but abandoned for not working properly. The white Kingsguard armour didn't look good under a lot of lighting conditions (particularly natural outdoor light) so they changed it. The Targaryen silver hair, on the other hand, did work pretty well so they kept it. I haven't heard 100% for sure, but my guess would be that they tested the purple contact lenses and decided it didn't work or looked weird or was just too strange and distracting, so dropped it (it wouldn't surprise me to learn the same thing was behind Tyrion's mismatched eyes being abandoned as well).

10 full minutes of material, mostly behind-the-scenes but some new clips as well.

Particularly of interest will be footage of Jaime Lannister (including a conversation with Ned in Winterfell) and a conversation between Ned Stark and Littlefinger, not to mention Viserys Targaryen doing his deluded glory spiel and Benjen Stark telling his nephew Jon how life is on the Wall.

A stunt actor called Conan Stevens. Never heard of him before.

Yeah I would love a shot of the Others but I reckon they will make it more a threat and a suspense thing and maybe show what one actually looks like way into it...

Maybe this has been mentioned before and I'm being redundant, but is anyone else really annoyed by the fact that everytime they have Sean Bean's voice saying "Winter is coming" at the end of trailers, it's followed up by a completely uncharacteristic and out of place chuckle?

They are the words (akin to a motto) of House Stark, of which Eddard (Sean Bean) is the present patriarch.

It also means that Winter is on it's way, like after Autumn/Fall time.

Amoka's website moved a while ago. He's also in Russia and apparently has webhosting problems from time to time.

You forgot to mention that the seasons can last many years, so "Winter is Coming," is also a warning and a threat :)

Wow, great pictures!

Have been starting to rave about GoT to people I know, so hopefully a lot of people will be interested when it comes out. Does anyone know if I can get HBO in the UK?

I really look forward to seeing this...I hope they don't butcher it haha. I'm a little worried about the little incest scenes though haha.

"Ignoring him, she stepped back out of the ellipse and began singing in the Woman's Language, which was, of course, unintelligible to Iskaral's ears. Just as the Man's Language-which Mongora called gibberish-was beyond her ability to understand. The reason for that, Iskaral Pust knew, was that the Man's Language was gibberish, designed specifically to confound women."

Now that Martin has this new HBO series coming out, he really should buckle down and actually finish A Dance with Dragons. He must be having complete writers block or something. The problem is if an author can't pull off the end to a book series, how good can you rate the series as a whole?

How exactly is this going to work? He still has, what, 2 more books to go, after dragons? And they'll do a season of ASoIaF every year I assume. So he's got 5 years to do 2 books. After finishing Dance.

The point is he's never going to finish before he dies if he keeps going at this rate :)

ADWD is just about done. I'm hoping for a completion announcement before the TV series starts (actually around New Year's, but with all of GRRM's estimates tripling them is usually a good idea). The thread in the book forum is better for that discussion, however.

No. It's airing on the new Sky Atlantic channel in the UK (which launches in February, IIRC). The show starts in April in the States (probably 3 April) and Sky will hopefully show it a few weeks later. There's no way at all of getting HBO direct in the UK, unless you use a proxy server and buy the episodes from iTunes (which is legal, via a loophole). Hopefully they'll have them up on iTunes shortly after transmission.
