Forgottenmachine: Well done. I truly enjoyed your post.
Now to TG, what the hell is it with him an rapes? The man's effin obsessed...
So being all you can be, being the best you can be, is being a grown man who kicks an eight year old girl in the face? Being a man who thinks children can be inherently evil, and not just an unfortunate product of their surroundings?
Thanks, but no thanks Oh Yearded One.
TG is to the world of litertaure what Jenny McCarthy is to the world of medicine...

Wow, TG is truly retarded. His version of morality seems fairly...skewed, if he truly believes that. He has a fairly dim view of human nature and potential, as well.
Also he's a Socialist pig for suggesting our fair democracy is akin to gang rape

Haha Vrep to you, Grief.
Assail, yes, we're obviously still a little fuzzy on the specifics of how rape is democratically alright and tax fraud is a admirable, revolutionary act.

Assail, the only way you could possibly win this is if you could conclusively prove that Goodkind was actually possessed by some kind of asshat demon for the entirety of his career as a... I don't think writer is applicable, so I'll use opinionated keyboard owner.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Ah. I remember going over this interview on the older version of this forum. Exellent work forgottenmachine, and good point. I'll say this for goodking. I agree with his asessment of the drowning situation. I do have a choice of jumping in after you or not. I dont know where, but i remember goodking making the argument that its morally valid for me not to do so, and this is where we disagree. Then again, this is the whole problem with the philosophy. It makes an argument of of denying the old views and values of morallity, saying man is only responsible for himself, etc... . But it doesnt really offer a replacement about how people should act. When Richard commits some horrible act in the book, he has to come up with a convulted excuse for why this is valid, either by talking about how a man should think and act for himself, or by following a random rule which matches Richard's mood for the moment. A very nice contradiction. I mean, if the whole point is everyone do what they want as long is it doesnt hurt anyone, why does Richard go out of his way to convince a group of pacifists to fight back? Is it because he is a "moral" person? But what does he mean by that anyway? I would call it frustrating, but its more comical, at least in hindsight. I mean, look at his rules for god's sake. I can poke a hole in each one by simply citing an example from his book :-
# Wizard's First Rule (from Wizard's First Rule): "People are stupid. [...] They will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true."
# Wizard's Second Rule (from Stone of Tears): "The greatest harm can result from the best intentions."
# Wizard's Third Rule (from Blood of the Fold): "Passion rules reason."
# Wizard's Fourth Rule (from Temple of the Winds): "There is magic in sincere forgiveness, the magic to heal. In forgiveness you grant, but more so, in forgiveness you receive."
# Wizard's Fifth Rule (from Soul of the Fire): "Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie."
# Wizard's Sixth Rule (from Faith of the Fallen): "[T]he only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason"
# Wizard's Seventh Rule (fromThe Pillars of Creation): "Life is the future, not the past."
# Wizard's Eighth Rule (from Naked Empire): "Deserve victory." (Translated from "Talga Vassternich").
# Wizard's Ninth Rule (from Chainfire): "A contradiction cannot exist in reality. Not in part, nor in whole."
# Wizard's Tenth Rule (from Phantom): "Willfully turning aside from the truth is treason to one's self."
But it would require some effort, and im lazy. Perhaps someone else?

Yep, wearing gloves would certainly help you write coherently.
Is that perhance a trick you learned from TG?

Hate, Assail? Anyone who sticks to their guns, against an assault the likes of which only Malazites are capable, and can still be as pleasant natured and good-humored as yourself gets my complete respect. Ideas may differ, but you certainly show character.
It's just always more fun to disagree with someone then it is to agree, and debate is just much better than any real work I am trying to avoid, which is slowly beginning to become a warren of its own on my desk!
Besides, this is more a facade of bravery in an effort to appear as if I belong on this forum. I've already been warned about someone called Abyss and brainzzzzz........

Assail hasn't even felt the full force of TG hatred yet. Most people who come here going on about the greatness of the Yearded One get slammed quite badly. We've let him off light with some minor teasing, the old Goodkind thread got nasty.
