well perhaps kilava was given up as a lost cause? could be she could only do this for tool, for, as toc notes, the lines of blood kinship between them are not as severed as they believe

I believe Kilava was bound to her eternal flesh by Onrack when he violated Imass law by painting her image against a cave wall...I could be mistaken. As for Tool, Silverfox freed him from the ritual when he gave up his sword and the position as First Sword.

I might be mistaken, but as I saw it Kilava wasn't bound by the ritual because she didn't participate in it. And she killed the entire village and bloodlines to escape it, although she failed to do her brother in. I don't think tool was released by silverfox? I cannot remember reading a part that stated that.

I'd say that Tool is released, seeing as he's mortal.

Does Tool hate Onrack (or would he)?

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

why should he, cause i think he's very much devoted to his sister and wants her to be happy, so why would he hate her lover?

I don't know. Maybe he could think him responsable for his sister going nuts and killing all her family.

Who knows, maybe Onrack has become an awesome swordsman and Tool would challenge him.

But that doesn't mean hate though.
