I have my computer back, but I don't know how to do all my drivers and rubbish and I think my graphics card isn't working, bah!

Got addicted to Sherlock on BBC and end up spending the last 4 and a half hours watching them. Enjoyable but its now quarter to 4 in the morning. Ugh

She's the Head of State, Head of Armed Forces (only the Queen can declare when Britain is at/goes to war), Head of the Church of England, Head of the Commonwealth of Nations and she deals with the red boxes and represents Britain. Other things too, but those are the main things.

So, not really, JLV.

Basically a ceremonial role like most Parliamentarian countries.

The Head of Armed Forces isn't equivalent to the President being Commander-in-Chief. More succinctly Head-of-Nodding-Alright-to-the-Prime Minister.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

First round tertiary offers just game out.

Didn't get to the university I wanted. I am going to Deakin, which is in the middle of nowhere and no-one I know of is going there. And its Law course isn't exactly great, if rumours are to be believed.

How many welding jobs are out there? (real question)

If a lot, do this if you are so inclined. Disaster for me as I'd probably melt my arm off quickly.

The scale and difficulty of the task set before me this year is slowly creeping into my head. So that's one thing messing with my groove.

The second is, seriously, screw teh internets, chatting online with the gf isn't even like licking a lolly through the package - it's like watching a satellite photo. From 1km away. With no binoculars.

Trondheim's ridiculous job market. Gah, I'm not regretting moving up here for Sarah's sake, but god I'm getting frustrated just twiddling my thumbs.

I've even reached the point where I'm sick of skyrim.

Bad luck but:
1. It is probably better if you don't know anyone at uni to help push you into making new friends. There is no better time or place than starting university to make friends and you'll be fine.
2. At undergraduate level, you make what you get offered work for you. Some employers are very elitist and I imagine law is quite an elitist subject but mostly it is about the postgraduate experiences now. Wherever you end up, work hard, make opportunities for yourself to look attractive to postgraduate admissions or postgraduate training and you'll be fine.

It is a rather sad fact that when you have lots of spare time on your hands at an age where you should really appreciate it, it is never as satisfying as you would hope!
