The only thing worse than bad news? Is bad news that is belated and thus you can't do anything about it.

That Asian girl I liked but she said she didn't like me? Well, when she was drunk and said she liked me? She fucking meant it. Then at another outing we were on I talked a lot to another girl, she took it for flirting, she gave up on me.

Both of us made assumptions and we're suffering the consequences.

I might have developed an allergy to liquor.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Good god man, do you want us to take you out back and shoot you? That's horrible. I am simply a walking hangover machine, which I've come to grips with.

I managed, quite skillfully, to calm the girlfriend down and saved the relationship. Quite proud of myself.

On the other hand I'm being consumed by the flu. I haven't felt this awful in a long long time. And booze was not even involved!

Went to a surprise party for my friend's birthday last night, with a host that was ill with the flu. And now ALL of us are sick.

its impossible to play against these idiots, they don't have a fucking clue what they're at.

I pushed with AA, pre flop, one guy called, I figured he must have a decent pair or face cards. he turns up 72, the fucking hammer.
hits his 2 pair and does me out of half my stack. That annoyed me, 2 or 3 hands later I push again with KJ suited, idiot calls again, this time with 73, hits his straight on the river. Who the FUCK CALLS an all in with the hammer? WHO DOES THAT?

*raises hand* I do, occasionally. I don't play online though.

My friends have given up trying to figure me out. I never play for much, and when I do, I like to take risks and have fun with it.
I've done my share of river busts, hehe.
lookit this way: if idiots like that win once, they'll just keep doing it. and 90+% of the time, they'll keep losing.

mind you, I wouldn't push with those pre-flop, unless I was tired of playing and wanted to lose my money quickly/or double up.

tCG (no, not the book itself, the things it does with you).

Was reading it on the train, but damn that occassional lump in my throat... so far, this book is too much of an emotional rollercoaster to be read anywhere but in the solitude/ privacy of my own home.

I think you have to play out those crappy hands sometimes anyway. Spice up your bet pool, and pre flop, you're just as likely to hit as your cards (not in the case of AA, but anywho). All in on a hammer is mental though. I do enjoy playing a hand at 56 or 78 or something and going down to river to keep my opponents guessing.

Already TCG has interfered with my uni work. Instead of using what little time I had available tonight to finish my Latin translations, I ended up just reading it the whole time.

Somewhat mitigated by the fact it is totally amazing, but not looking forward to class tomorrow...

When I left the house to go to work this morning there was a TCG sized package from amazon waiting for me at the door, I was running a bit late so just dropped the package in the car and drove to work really excited about the fact that I would finally get to read it. When i got there I opened the package, no TCG inside, such a let down.

Ah well, maybe tomorrow!

The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

Lol, at first I had to ask myself "WTF country is that?" Then I realized it was Austria. And you have my condolences, now go commiserate in the Canucks' thread.
