I think you're quite close to my aunt and uncle, Worry. Well not at the moment as they're over here but I saw them yesterday and they said the fires were close to their house.
Hope you and yours are safe!

I'm not in any harm's way to my knowledge, aside from the air quality. Definitely got a sore throat going. The sky is more grey than orange today -- is that a good sign?
Yikes... if you're not already and it's at all possible of course you should be wearing an effective mask (P100 or better) at least outdoors and using effective air purifiers at home...
I'd say the government should provide them for free to people in at-risk areas, but this is America, land of the free pollution... and free disease. Besides, many people would refuse to mask on "principle", and some would try to sell the free masks / air purifiers over the internet... or shoot them and blow them up for Youtube (and possibly shit on them for more uncensored sites... hopefully while they're still burning).

I've only got some K95s, but I'm just staying indoors and do have a purifier on.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Dealer house is no longer displaying a for sale sign. Could be good could be bad. I keep having nightmares about the fucking place.

Scalpers
should be scalped.
Tried for Linkin Park, at the O2.
Granted its not a big venue, and they did an extensive presale to their Linkin Park underground fan club.
but still, joined the Queue, got in at about 3000 out, by the time I got to 2600th in the queue, sold out.
But wait, there are a fuck ton of tickets available on resellers sites for just at least double the price.
Fuck you, and DOUBLE fuck you if you got in on the fan presale and are scalping those tickets.

Concert prices, face value or resale are all fucking ridiculous now. I remember when $100 was extravagant.

How do you know youre getting old? You have to take an afternoon off work to prep for your colonoscopy the next day.

$100 IS extravagant what the heck. I haven't been to a show where a ticket was more than £20 in decades.

Yeah ... that was me earlier this year. Thankfully I was under a general anaesthesia for the, uh, procedure so the worst part I recall is the prep.
All in all though, not an experience I'd care to repeat.

For the big name stuff it’s ridiculous. My kids want to see Chappell Roan, but the cheapest ticket is like $364.
I’m seeing Sturgill Simpson and Trampled by Turtles later this year and they’re both around $120.

Quick search didn't turn up the median ticket price for her recent shows though.
And on top of that people often travel to distant cities and/or countries for several days....

I've never heard of any of those acts, but prices are ridiculous.
Was thinking about it, AC/DC, circa 2010 for Black ice t9ur, I'm sure my ticket was about £60. 2015 or whenever for Rock or Bust, was about £85/90. PwrUp was £120 all standing tickets. (much to my shame I paid £146 to get 'golden circle')
That's the next thing that fucks me off that has only appeared in the UK and Ireland recently, but apparently has been a thing elsewhere for sometime.
Normally if you want into the 'pit' (semi circle right at stags with crowd break behind you) it's turn up at 6am and queue all day. No its a privilege you can only get by paying extra. I normally point blank refuse, but wife would never have been comfortable being at the front of the normal crowd (plus the pushing to get there and no chance of a toilet break) so for us to be standing anywhere near the stage it had to be pit.
Eta, first 2 ac/dc concerts I got up front without paying extra, first one I was there queueing in the sun all day, second we somehow lucked out and a really nice steward got us the last few pit passes as we had no chance to queue early

I'm seeing Alice Cooper in London in a few weeks. Because why not? £60 a ticket. He's keeping it classy.

Dealer landlord was back (for five minutes) on Monday morning. Might have just been a meter reading (it's still empty) but couple the fact he appeared again for the first time in months with the fact there is no more for sale sign outside makes me worry he's gonna try and put wronguns back in there.
