See the USA in your Chevrolet.

I'm going to visit my son in Minnesota some time this summer and I intend to drive. I've always loved flying, but screw the airlines. If I don't have to overcome large bodies of water I'm driving for the duration.

Idiots who think it's a great idea to use hair spray on public transport. Like, right there. In your face. Thanks for that allergic reation, asshole. You'd think people would have enough brains to not use that shit on a crowded train.

It's a vicious cycle, since the hairspray kills further brain cells.

I had a woman do this in the hospital. HOSPITAL. I ended up having an asthma attack on top of the reason I was there. Her response was "Well how was I supposed to know?" Fuck. You. Bitch. (It was two years ago and I am still boiling mad about it).

I hope you have something on hand to help minimise the symptoms. And/or that it's just a mild reaction. Take care of yourself today!

I'm ok, thanks! Since it's hayfever season, I've got cortisone on me most of the time.

You'd think that people, even if unaware that it can cause allergic reactions/asthma attacks, would have enough grey matter between their ears to figure that it's not a good idea in general in close quarters. I still can smell the stuff.

Which explains Trump.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Only partially, and his adherents in particular. When you think about it (and I already regret the time I've wasted so far) if Trump used it, his hair wouldn't move.

I also think lead, oxycontin and moonshine have a measurable effect on his voter base.

Oh, the things people do on public transport. It's like they forget how to be decent human beings, assuming they were decent to begin with, and do whatever they please. I once saw a man clipping his fingernails on the bus, never mind that he was in full view of everyone and more than a few of us were grossed out. I even made eye contact and gave him a slight "WTF are you doing?" look and he just kept on clipping.

Of course that was merely revolting, there was no danger of causing an allergic reaction.

Y'know, i'm not allergic to hairspray, and i'm not generally a violent person, but this would have fallen into the narrow category of times when i would have reached out and physically knocked the bottle away.
Because fuck that, you don't spray chemicals in other peoples faces.

I hate when my wife uses hairspray in the next room. That stuff clogs up my throat. Can't think how bad it would be on a bus...

^^This. I agree. Either I would have knocked it away, or I'd have brought the house down yelling at the person for being so disrespectful in a public space.

Fell during the game. Think i sprained my left wrist.

pretty sure its not broken, b/c i put it through the motions right away and there was no crippling pain of any kind. But it is swollen a bit

goddamit, i'm getting old and fragile. I'm beginning to realize I may actually need someone around to remind me of that fact more often.

It wasn't a surprise either, there was a blog with a couple years' worth of tenant concerns about the the building's safety: https://twitter.com/...811533741764608

Including advice from their tenant management organization to "stay put" unless the fire was close by:

It's nice to know that someone else is just as prone to injury as myself.

Mentalist playing soccer: Oof I've been paralyzed from the waist down. Think I can still make it to the game on Monday though!
Mentalist playing Pictionary: Sorry I couldn't draw something this week. I had several emails to answer and finished 7 books during my commute.

Yup. That's exactly how priorities work!

Edit: did not sleep well. Some bruising of the wrist now.

My working theory is that at most it's a hairline Fracture (since no bone is sticking out anywhere, and I can bend the wrist each way, albeit the range is limited by the swelling. And yeah, no crippling pain at any point, though naturally it's not really comfortable either), so I won't waste time trying to see a Dr. just yet.

The real challenge ofc, lies in hiding this from my parents as long as possible in order to avoid another lecture.

No, the real challenge is changing your play style so you don't get hurt this badly and often.

I literally fight people for a hobby and I get hurt less than you do. Let that sink in.

Right? At this point we should all just assume Ment is the Six-Million Dollar man and can be put back together all the time!
