Wife ended up in emergency surgery for an abscess and infection from breast-feeding that (because she went to a lactation specialist who was a little shitstain who kept telling her to massage it out and not bother with antibiotics...it got worse...honesty, I want to call this MFer and give him a piece of my mind) required surgery to deal with. I'm sick, so there I am trying to look after my 6-week old daughter on my own wearing a mask to not pass my cold to her, who was inconsolable that mommy was gone for 48hrs...and add to that my wife was going into surgery and I couldn't be there with her....didn't' sleep, and my mother finally was able to come and help me out and get my daughter to at least calm down.

Goddamn lactation specialist Charlatan.

Wife is now home and doing decently (though still in pain, the hospital sent her home with pain med regimen though) and daughter had formula for almost two straight days and slept more than she's ever slept and was happier than I've ever seen her. Trying to convince my wife to stop breastfeeding after struggling with it every day for so long and going to formula....is seeming like a herculean task that just gets her upset with me.

Sigh.

That is so awful QT! I'm so sorry you and your wife had to go through this.

On the breast feeding, a lot of women feel like they HAVE to do it to be a good mom and bond with their babies. From my own experience, I frankly felt a lot of peer pressure from women I knew, and tried it even though I didn't really want to. My daughter ended up having a lot of food allergies so she went on formula anyways. And we still bonded and she was perfectly fine!

I've heard bottle babies usually sleep better, because formula is more filling.

Kelly tried to breastfeed all of one time at hospital when Jaina was born and that was the end of that.

MODGOD NOTICE OF SEE ABOVE.

Formula is the foulest smelling shit ESP when you 1st crack open that tin lid.

I am finally, officially divorced after a year and some of separation. Now, that actually makes me rather happy. It was a weight on me I didn't even realise was there. What is messing with my groove is that my ex-wife called me today to ask if I could sign some papers from the US government so that she can remarry, which she is planning to do shortly. I have no wish to ever get back with this woman, of that I have no doubt, but I was still shocked. I assume it's with the guy she left me for and I guess it rankles that their relationship is working out. Not a charitable thought for sure, but I guess I was sort of hoping that the relationship had gone to shit.

Thanks QT. Its a femur fracture. They are going to operate later this week. What has everybody tensed up is that my grandmother is a long term Leukemia patient who has survived with it for 15 years. She is very frail. She has actually been in good health lately, but with that lurking in the background everybody is scared.

Oh wow. All the best for her to mend smoothly.

My grandmother had falling issues last year BC her blood pressure was dropping at weird times and she broke several bones. Refuses to use a cane too. Fortunately, we got her on meds that help and she's better now. But I still gently push the cane when I can (not often).
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Since she is very unsteady on her feet we got her a walker. But she rarely uses it. And this fall was so innocent. She just got up from the armchair, she had a plate in her hand, she lost her balance and fell sideways. That was enough to break the bone.

We do have another lined up (be December now as he was born the day Gus died) but I feel so shitty for Gus. He was only 10 weeks old. He deserved better than this.

I had a Twitter friend who engaged with a lot of the same people that I do in regards to MMA and joking around. She frequently dumped what to everyone else looked like dozens and dozens of "everyone is using me, I have no friends, I am all alone" tweets nearly verging upon the "I want to kill myself" type thoughts into the timeline. I reached out to her months ago in a private backstage way about talking to a professional or a loved one when it got real bad and she joked it off.

She finally got a good job recently, but started again with the streams of unloading these thoughts on everyone who followed her open to the public feed. So I asked again about maybe seeking professional help to deal with those issues she keeps mentioning. I was told I knew nothing about her, that professional help was bullshit, and was blocked.

I told a mutual friend to watch out for any opportunities to help her and am not going to interact with her anymore, but I do wish she gets to a better place and realizes how much she needs help based on what she says to everyone.

I understand the resistance and the hurt of having to seek help, but it's worth it. Living is easy better than the alternative.

Sounds like my Mum's uncles and aunts etc (her dad's siblings). Vile, amoral pieces of shit, the lot of them. The type who move in and and strip a place of everything - including the curtains and doorknobs, no joke - the day someone dies. Before the will etc or even before the dead blokes kids find out. Every time one of those arseholes died the world was a slightly better place.

1. At 7:10 AM I suddenly got the urge to use the bathroom, the kind of use that takes hours.

2. I had to leave at 7:15.

3. I missed my bus.

4. The next bus came and I realized I had forgotten to take my bus pass with me.

5. Down 9.75 for a day pass.

6. I was awake at 5 AM today.

7. Forgot to take my lunch.

8. Classmate I hate finds me on skytrain.

Someone please put me out of my misery.

Literally, please.
