Well technically, as a man made object put into orbit, a space station like the ISS is also a satellite isn't it?

Any object orbiting any other object is a satellite. The term was coined by Kepler in reference to the then newly discovered moons of Jupiter, centuries before there was any man-made junk in orbit. The ISS is a satellite of the Earth just as the Earth is a satellite of the Sun.

There are technically three space stations up there.

It's too hard to do a secret space station. Too many launches and shuttling of personnel to hide anything that big and costly.

There's tons of secret satellites and definitely some ordnance too despite the arms treaties.

That you know of.

Yep. Prob more secret ones to lol.

Don't be silly. There are no secret space stations in geosynchronous orbit with death rays. None. Not even one. Or two.

See above. None. Really.

A space station with death rays in geosyncronous orbit would leave half the planet unacceptably untargetable. Thus, you need a minimum of two.

Most people like it when they stand under a tree full of fragrant flowers. I have to run as I am allergic. I really hate this time of year.

Moving.

Geosynchronous death/coldvirus ray satellites are a huge hassle to relocate.

If they existed. Which they do not.

None.

Not one.
Certainly not two.

Per continent.

My copy of Deadhouse Gates has joined the great bookcase in the sky - part of it came away from the binding. It has in fairness been rather well read...

Wife ended up in emergency surgery for an abscess and infection from breast-feeding that (because she went to a lactation specialist who was a little shitstain who kept telling her to massage it out and not bother with antibiotics...it got worse...honesty, I want to call this MFer and give him a piece of my mind) required surgery to deal with. I'm sick, so there I am trying to look after my 6-week old daughter on my own wearing a mask to not pass my cold to her, who was inconsolable that mommy was gone for 48hrs...and add to that my wife was going into surgery and I couldn't be there with her....didn't' sleep, and my mother finally was able to come and help me out and get my daughter to at least calm down.

Goddamn lactation specialist Charlatan.

Wife is now home and doing decently (though still in pain, the hospital sent her home with pain med regimen though) and daughter had formula for almost two straight days and slept more than she's ever slept and was happier than I've ever seen her. Trying to convince my wife to stop breastfeeding after struggling with it every day for so long and going to formula....is seeming like a herculean task that just gets her upset with me.

Sigh.

Thanks man, It was a nightmare, and I I think we are through the worst bit, she has to heal up first so hopefully that goes without an hitches. Scary AF though to be honest.

I don't get how there's male lactation specialists. A good bit of that particular profession would logically rely on experience...

Difference between 'specialists' who are, I think, medical personnel, possibly RNs, who specialize, and 'consultants' who are typically private individuals, usually but not always women with personal experience.

QT - Glad that worked out ok. For what it's worth I personally know multiple toddlers who were switched to formula early for various reasons and are utterly thriving.
