You know what else would help?

Sit down in a comfy chair, or lay down in bed.
Close your eyes.
Tense all your muscles, and slowly relax them all in sequence from your feet to your head.
Do this 3 times.
Picture this:
you pump out 3 high quality books in a decent timeframe and gets shitloads of fans.
Then, you find other pursuits and delay the fuck out of book 4.
Use every excuse in the book, and invent a few new ones.
Revise, revise, revise.
Delay book 5 even more because you didn't like the lukewarm response to book 4.
Blame everything and everyone else but yourself.
Lather, rinse, repeat until you cark it without leaving any notes.

Haven't seen the cat since yesterday eve. Not like her - she's been gone for a day once before, but it's still got me wondering what she's up to, and looking out for her every five minutes.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Thanks all. Yeah, it boils down to what Mezla was saying. There are certain battles to fight and others not to. She fortunately called in all her churchy friends and they did almost everything. I helped a bit, breaking down the playhouse and getting rid of the scraps, cleaning floors and fridge, etc. But the main thing was that emotional abuse. She always used to say she detested emotional blackmail, and now she turns to it. Gods, I want this hell to end.

Next battle in the ring is financials where we fight over the massive credit card debit and jointly filed taxes for this last year.

She has pushed me over the edge though. I am bringing in a lawyer, as soon as I find one and get a loan to pay the retainer. I have no money to do so on my own.

Again, thanks all. Trying. Trying not to get fucked.

She has Churchy frineds?
Really?

She is religious. It's tough being an atheist.

I know that it is just an eval, that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme, but I hate evals.

Got my last rotation eval where it talked about me not speeding up on reviewing slides (even though I did, even the fellow [between an attending and resident] who spends more time with me than the damn attending giving my eval) and was kind of meh otherwise. This after asking for lots of feedback and mentioning I AM FUCKING GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE YOU TURDS! Life kicks you while you're down, and then rubs you in the dog shit it stepped in during the beating.

These seats at hospital are so shitty. They are gonna have to roll me out to truck along with old man. Ugh he hasn't even went back to start yet. It's gonna be a long morning.

Finally atleast back here in room but he still has stuff to do before hand. Chair is slightly better in here though not much.

Grr surgery is now 2hrs behind schedule.

3 hrs...

4 hrs!!! Motherfucker I'm almost in tears hurting so bad in these shitty seats. Told us surgery was set for 9 and now it's almost 1!!!!

If your father is already past the doors to prep, go wait in the car. It's what I did this morning for a family member's dental surgery. The car seats are usually 5x more comfortable, plus you get used to walking around now and then to check on the progress.

5 hrs. They just came in to get his sig to be put under. Told us he was next case finally and that was about 30 mins ago. He's not happy at this wait. I'm leaving to go let the dogs out when he goes back .

I remember waiting in hospitals for my grandfather's surgery, it is not fun. I hope it's not anything serious at least.
Also, the wait in hospitals is grating, I suggest lots of Caffein or some LSD to take the edge off.

I strongly suggest that nobody do LSD in a hospital if you are considering doing LSD.

The environment is too monotone and grim to give a good experience, plus the potential experience is too fun to confine to one place.

Had a long talk with my mom, thought things were going well when she declared that she believes flight MH17 never happened. Because a russian book says so. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. It wouldn't be that bad, it would just be really boring as there's not much to do for a healthy person who doesn't work at the hospital to do in the hospital. The entire experience there is pointedly not for that person.

This is assuming you don't go wandering into the cancer wards or morgue and incinerator area.

lol. "Вата" detected :D

I have pretty much cut all dinner-table politics talk ever since my grandparents came to live with us (about a year ago now). Because there's no reasoning. If there's ever anything my father and I need to talk about, we have to do outside my grandparents' hearing range.

My mom is safely apolitical though.

Just found out the other half's brother is more than taken in with The Donald. He's not a political creature and I think it's "whoever shouts loudest". That and he's swallowed all the tosh about immigrants. Given he's a Brit who studied and now lives in America with his American wife..... I think the irony is possibly lost on him.
