So I told my work I will be taking personal day at a certain day since my family is religious and our company book says we can use our personal days for religious days. I try to be nice and let them know ahead of time and they treat you like shit and try arguing semantics and other bullshit reasons. I proved them that yes, in fact I can use it for that day, since they were denying it even though I signed the fucken book saying I can, now they're trying to pull some other shit.


Today they told me that I cant take it because they "don't consider being European a good enough reason. But if you were, for example Chinese, that would be fine." WTF does that mean?

I said I'll be taking it that day and walked away.

I'm gonna send an email stating I want the exact reasoning in writing for the refusal. If they expect us to do everything by the book, then they should as well. Maybe I will be able to use it somehow.

If its something like " You cant get it because you are X (insert religion/ethnic group/gender) but you could have if you were Y (ditto) then that is discrimination. If they put it in writing or if you can get a recording, then you can probably do something about it
