A pre-emptive fuck my country, based partially on the exit poll results and mostly on how many votes UKIP got.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I heard it was "the conservatives"....so that can't be good. I know very little about UK politics.

UKIP is like if Rob Ford was a racist arch-conservative instead of a bumbling moderate.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I'm less bothered about the UKIP vote - it's a sign of poorly educated disenfranchised people who want to rattle the cage. As a proud northerner I am gutted about their percentage in the North but I kind of understand the people and can see why they did it (partly because a lot of them are ignorant fucktards but c'est la vie). I was still undecided in the polling booth, it was really weird. I didn't particularly want anyone to win and wanted a new era of coalition politics and co-operation in the UK and hopefully with the left leaning parties holding the larger numbers. I was envisioning something where extreme policies wouldn't stand a chance but like minded people might pull together on important stuff like the NHS and education - you know, sensible shit. I know, I'm an idiot. So not only back to partisan shit but the fucking blue side of it. Right now I just want to move to another country and I'm usually an optimist. The only hope now is that the Labour + SNP + Green + Lib Dem numbers are large enough to block any really swivel eyed policies of the Tories that would be supported by DUP + UKIP.

A little bit Tiste, still doesn't take away that the UK (well England and Wales) is blue.

In fact there is a picture that i have found on my FB that shows the election map and maggie simpson together and its difficult to see who is who lol.

It just goes to show the lack of faith people have in teh Labour party and Ed that they would prefer DC being in power again.

It's not even the UK being blue that bothers me overly so, it is the complete and utter disjoint between what people vote and how it translates in seats. But fair enough, there is a thread for that.

I agree there Gore. Although if you look at the percentage of votes SNP had 4.9% yet represents 56 seats, however lib dems have 7.7% and that gained 8 seats.

However the 4.9% represents pretty much the whole of Scotland.

God politics are infuriating lol

The DUP (who? Indeed.) also got 8 seats, with a staggeringly impressive 0.6% of the votes. And no, I did not place the dot wrong there. But anyway, this discussion threatens to bleed into the wrong forum thread, so I'll stick to the election one from here on in.

I know. We had a chance to change the voting system and it was soundly rejected.

For the record, I didn't get that chance I was too young at the time lol

Couldn't have said it better myself Gore. As a civil servant and a parent with a young child I'm expecting to be hit hard.

Let's hope the Tories don't fuck things up too much.
