That's pretty illegal, I'd imagine. Even if you authorised the remote connection, the obligation is on the party gaining access to stop the connection as soon add their purpose is complete.

Unless their job specifically allows them to do something like that without informing you/asking your permission, of course. It's an invasion of privacy, especially on your lunch break - unless you're not supposed to be using company systems for personal browsing or something... I'd advise getting it formally noted by your manager, just in case it becomes a problem in the future.

Our internet usage at work is monitored but on lunch break they don't really care what we do. Just as well being that I peruse MetalSucks on a regular basis. Also here, for the last month and a bit. They don't really notice when I look at strange stuff, being that I often sit there, at my desk, poking pens and straws through my septum.

What I hate most I think is that indefinable moment when some "freedom fighter" or whatever the fuck they call themselves actually starts to think it would be a good idea to shoot up a school because you're mad at the Army. God/Allah/whatever the fuck is in charge needs to lend me their power. It would only take a single day, maybe even less, but the world would be a whole lot nicer by the end.

The hell? If you are using company equipment for your surfing, you must assume (and it is most likely in any kind of employee agreement/code of ethics) that the company is aware and logging what you are doing.

Them doing anything with it or not is a different issue, but the expectation here is that the company is aware of all internet browsing you do at work, so long as you are using work equipment.

Yeah i was told that I can browse whatever I want as long as its not porn. I dont know if they log my info, probably do. So what your saying is that since I am working with the company means I can also do that to someone else as well? There is definitely a difference between the company and an individual of the company especially since that specific person's job in my case is to review and approve drawings.

Depends entirely on what that person is in relation to you. For instance if that person was a supervisor/superior in a direct line, it probably isn't a breach of ethics. If the guy totally forgot he was remoted in and it was in the background, probably not a breach of ethics.

Depends entirely on who you are and who he is and what your job responsabilities are.

I dont report to him. He's in a diff office too. I just work with him often.all the drawing have to be approved by him before being sent out. As in my first post he didnt forget cause he was watching while on lunch break. I know because my boss saw him watching me on my break. Even if it was a supervisor watching someone on lunch break when told you can do whatever you want is still shady. Anyway, I did t really want to make a huge thing out of it.
