The fake sign language interpreter at the Nelson Mandela funeral is really grinding my gears. Here's a pretty good overview of the whole thing: http://www.telegraph...was-a-fake.html

Even though I'm more of the American brand of deaf/signing person, there's still a ton of commonality between global variants of sign language and this man was doing none of them. It's as bad as watching a 10 month old baby try to ape grown-ups doing something for the first time. Anyways, what really gets me about this is that there have been complaints about this man before from many people and they still used him for the funeral. The South African government/event organizers still "vetted" him and allowed a fraudster on stage next to global heads of government and so on for hours and hours. What if he realized he couldn't do it anymore, snapped and went after someone?

All of this means that they didn't give a shit. They didn't give a shit about what the deaf people would experience or the embarrassment bad sign language interpreters bring to them.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Absolutely. You can remove from the equation the possibilities of ignorance, or that they thought they could get away with it...since obviously anyone watching who'd know better would pick it out right away. So really the only possibilities are indifference or worse.

Yeah the Malazan books are great and all but they're just too large for a good read whilst having a poo... Not a major groove mess admittedly but when I'm mid read I don't want silly things like bodily functions stopping me!

Malazan books are perfectly usable when pooing. More mental agility!

As for messing with grooves, this guy at work seems to think I'll be his personal bitch. Sends me requests from his clients with no commentary on what I'm supposed to do with that.
Furthermore, the first one I did for him he didn't even forward to the client, who later contacted me directly pretty much by sheer luck.
Think I have to cut his attitude here and now.

Time just won't go by at work.. and I'm soooo sleepy. Though I guess it's my onw fault for staying up 'til 4am to play D&D.. Still, sooo sleepy. And Sunday usually brings the more irritating customers in.

But what really depresses me is that I haven't found the time to work on my final project at uni for MONTHS, and I've already spent a whole year on fiddling around with it and I'm really, really tired of everyone asking how it's going when there absolutely nothing going anywhere. I've already postponed handing it in for a whole year, and yet time is running short anyway. I honestly wonder if there's any point to it at all.

Whatever, sorry for whining. Move on. I just need to vent somewhere. Can't do that offline.

Christmas fucking shopping.

It really is quite depressing watching everyone crowding the shops out to spend money on tat that most people neither want nor need, whilst having to listen to Christmas songs telling me to be jolly.

I can't win anyway... If you don't buy stuff you get labeled as a miserable shit, and likewise if you mention anything along the lines of 'isnt this crazy?' So I'm literally forced to buy stuff.

Doesn't help that my wife's birthday is on the 4th January, and hasn't got a single gift idea, as she's still wearing or using all the nice stuff I got her last year.

So I still have no present for her birthday, no ideas, and I can't stand the shops for more than 5 minutes without wanting to kill everybody.

I'm in a right jolly mood.
