Yeah. Anything that contains information about his intentions or information that my lawyer has been asking me about, I am forwarding to the lawyer. But it does mean that I have to read the emails and comb through the abuse to see if there's any actual useful information in there. The process of doing that is throwing me for a loop. Things have broken down to the point where I'm happy to pay my lawyer large amounts of money to deal with him directly just so I don't have to talk to him. In the long run, it might be cheaper than the therapy I would need later to straighten myself out afterwards if I were to try to talk to him on my own. My husband is mad about that too. That I got a lawyer. It boggles my mind. What the heck did he expect me to do? That he was going to move away so he could live a separate life and I would just continue to stay married to him? Puck, I'm not clear on the whole situation with your mother and her "pet monkey", as you call him. Only what you've said in your last few posts. But I'm pulling for you. I hope this last incident will be enough to make your mother come to her senses, but even if she doesn't, I hope you can make everything come out ok for yourself.

Allright, so re-watching Revenge of the Sith, and... origin story prequels are such a goddamn stupid idea. See, in the original trilogy, the name Darth Vader, with Vader being a slight hint at father and so on - that was a slightly clever and meaningful name, right...
Then you watch RotS and when Sidious gives Anakin his new name of Darth Vader you just have to wonder "WTF why would he do that, really?". Sigh... at least there's cool lightsaber duels.

I've have sociological paper due tomorrow and I've asked the professor three times what she wanted from me because I really didn't understand the assignment. She explained it differently three times (obviously to help me understand) and I still don't get how to put it together (the paper that is). She wants by data description of popular media on a certain subject and literature review from peer reviewed journals of actual data. And she wants the data described in multiply areas excepts she only wanted articles 200 words or less so there pretty much focus on one subject. And she wants the paper separated by sub-topics but she doesn't want us to make any kind of argument while comparing the data and journals. She wants every article and journal piece in every sub-topic (despite this being impossible). And it's in a paper format I've never used before. So basically I feel like an idiot in a maze designed to make me feel like a bigger idiot. Big old idiot.

This is the reason why I specifically chose a major where I would never have to write anything other than lab reports. I feel for you.

The trick to answering any social science assignment is to argue for why you chose to answer it the way you did. In social science absolutely everything counts. But you can't take into account absolutely everything, so you have to justify why you focused on one thing over everything else.

Don't know what level you're on and if this is just a series of platitudes. If not, then I hope t helps. Limiting assignments is often the most difficult thing for fledgling social science students.

It can't just be META in the OT? That's always how I assumed it, a strange wordy-coincidence.

I'm not sure what you're after actually.

He was named WELL before he knew his nebulous, then-unnamed children had survived. And he thought them dead in his wife's belly.

Thus cleverly naming himself as any allusion to the word "Father" in a knowing way would have made no sense. In the OT, He only learns about Luke when Luke's Force powers become strong enough for him to note it when he's an adolescent long after he's got his Sith name.

Note: In the recent comic book retelling of Lucas rough draft THE STAR WARS script, Darth Vader, named by Lucas in 1974, was just a General in a Sith army, and not anyone's father.

It would have been nice to dovetail the name on-screen / in-story, I agree...but I find the Meta nature of it a bit more compelling personally.

Found out an old friend died in a car accident last night. Looking with perspective, it feels like I started life in a group that has been slowly dwindling by suicides, accidents, and illness, until there are ultimately none of us left. I never would have thought that I would be one of the survivors, but I suppose that considering some of the things that I have lived through, I shouldn't be surprised.

Had an interview a week ago, and I thought it went pretty good. It was for an entry-level position, in a field where I've been working for better part of the past year. I was given an assignment to do, same as all other candidates, and the interviewer implied that given my knowledge of the industry I'd have a far easier time of it than most.

I've done everything expected of me, but haven't heard back from them yet. One of the very few things I absolutely hate about my field is that here it's customary not to tell people if they've been rejected. I'm stuck in a not-knowing limbo.
