I've been sucked into a Board Room war that gossip suggests is worth high 10's of millions of pounds. On Saturday I was told that I was allegedly in possession of evidence of wrongdoing on the part of one side of the war. The other side of the war wanted said evidence and I spent a lot of the long weekend discussing my options with a lawyer and writing statements. Not a happy bunny. I was supposed to spend that long weekend enjoying one of our first breaks in our new house. It was meant to be a new dawn and all that but no, my stupid crazy job has to get in the way. They ain't paying me enough for this shit.

I'm the youngest child by 11 years. It's turning out that I am also the most oblivious child by any measure. Skype and an Aunt who doesn't hesitate in speaking her mind is an illuminating combination.

This is my approach. It works in so far as nobody can blame you except for complaining that you didn't lie for them, and really, if someone is trying to pull THAT card, what sort of person are they? Satan? (:))

Mum is usually the word I go by in these situations. If you start to talk, you involve yourself. It also puts you at risk of interpretations, as pointed out above, as well as scheming and positioning. Unless you fully involve yourself in the conflict, you often lose control over your own role in the conflict. At best you may create a block of your own, as Mez is trying to do, but you would still very much be part of the conflict. While not completely immune to it by going silent, the odds are more in your favour of the warring parties to ignore you.

Choose your battles. Unless you're prepared to fully immerse yourself in this and you play to win, my suggestion is to opt out.

I was *extremely* sleepy and fatigued all day yesterday. I must've slept through like 16-18 hours overall, and could barely stand up. Today it's better but still rather fatigued and slower-than-usual thinking. And I've no idea where it's coming from... grr.

I managed to double book my acommodation. Initially thought that I'd gotten a great deal on a 4 star hotel, but now it looks like an outlay of roughly 250 pounds for one night. Ouch!
