Everything. And this time I do mean everything. I need a new job and a new place to stay, because we're supposed to have been out of this place two weeks ago. And why? Because, as it turned out, mom's stupid, useless, idiot asshole didn't pay our rent either at all or did so only halfheartedly since January 2012. I don't want to think about the thousands that disappeared who knows where and how we're supposed to pay that now. Also, we're getting thrown out, even if we can pay that. And what's that asshole doing? He's off to some health resort, which was the only reason we found out we were supposed to move out by two weeks ago - because I started checking the mail and found the stuff he had squirreled away, like the termination notice on our apartment. Forget about finishing uni any time soon, I've spent all weekend running around town looking for a new place - preferably one that will let us live there despite the mountain of debt we're in now. The chances are rather small. Oh, fuck it *sigh*

Edit: to top off how shitty my day was the chocolate muffin I was going to eat to treat myself to at least that bit of good stuff today just said hi - it's growing mould. I bought it yesterday. NOW my day's gone down the drain for real.

Finding a legal aid society is crucial. Report the theft of the rent money to the police. Speak to any local churches or charities about housing.

Yes, things are that bad. The faster you, Puck, take action, the less time your mother had to backslide and take him back, the less your career and schooling are disrupted and the greater chance that someone will help you will happen.

The good news for today is that 1. we managed to talk to the landlord and though it surfaced HOW much mom's pet monkey REALLY lied (like, e.g. he told the landlord we have no money because my mom's not working any more, even though that's exactly what she does six days of the week from 8am to 8 pm), we at least can now stay in the current place until we find something else, which will hopefully be soon. 2. we're now looking for a place for mom and me only, which leads to 3. mom's considering a divorce. In other circumstances I'd be posting this in the happy thread, but the situation is still kind of.. bad nonetheless.

The money's likely gone, but what reporting this to the police does is start a real paper trail that you can point to in front of a judge. And helps to keep the mother from backsliding - which is all too easy to do.
