You can fix that, you know.

Not in the way you were thinking, and the other is not something the code of conduct allows you to suggest.

So watch your tongue.

Edit: I spent 4 hours today talking a suicidal girl down. I'm not in the mood.

If you'll go by the letter of the law, then you shouldn't even be talking to me.

Trolling
The posting of inflammatory, rude, repetitive or offensive messages designed to annoy or antagonize other posters or disrupt the flow of discussion is not welcome here. Do not respond to any baiting. By responding you are giving the troll what they want - a reaction out of you. This will soon escalate and get quickly out of hand.

Besides, it's like with racism: you're not allowed to say 'nigger' or do racist jokes unless you're part of an ethnic minority. Luckily, I used to be suicidal, so I'm OK. I've also got 1/16 (or 1/32, I can't remember) samii in me, so I can say 'nigger' all I want!

Doing cleanup. Found an old external harddrive.

Don't want to throw it out before I check what's on it.

Actually had a discussion with some dudes about how continuing to use racial slurs basically tells the targets of those slurs that they aren't welcome here and are unpeople in the eyes of the people who use them, therefore restricting their freedom of speech and utterly shitting all over the usual 'MY FREE SPEECH' arguments used to justify their bigotry (this means you, Reddit), and also ironic racism is just plain racism and normalisation of regressive views that further the otherisation of people who dunt look like uss, thanks for playing etc. Considering the stuff happening in the media over here with the two douches who killed that dude in Woolwich, it's not fun times all round at all.

Basically if you do use racial slurs deliberately for whatever reason the world would be better off without you, go live in a compound in Antarctica please, it'll be cool I promise. And Assail still hasn't decided to right wing up the Discussion forum yet, get on that already. Talk about how trickle down works, or 'children don't matter after birth', or unions are bad and you never really needed the weekend anyway, or something.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I wasn't saying, at any point, that they were welcome here. Do I think they're funny? Absolutely. If you can't find humor in how blown out of proportion many of the "racial hate" arguments and racial equality talks are in THIS DAY AND AGE then I would say I feel bad for you and you should possibly be taking life a little less seriously. Just like any words, or any slurs, the context they are used in are the issue, and hardly the words themselves. Not to mention I think the perpetuation of racial slurs is as much the "targets" fault as someone who uses it casually as well, if you want to take that approach. Tell me the word 'nigga' isn't thrown around casually by blacks more than it is by other group of individuals... I dunno, this isn't the place to discuss it, and I need to go eat for the 7th time today lol.

Words -- Funny.
Context -- A different story.

God damn I'm such a dirty white bread cracker ass mother fucker.

This one gets me every time I read it.

"Burb-Nigga"
A racial slur, derogatory, for white people in general.
Developed from the annoying habit of most white people tend to live in the suburbs, avoiding the "undesirables" that live in the cities themselves.

As for me right winging it up in Discussion, it's been a matter of time to be honest. I just got out of the Marine Corps and I'm focusing on hitting 250lbs. I just hit 225 the other day, 3 weeks into my bulking phase... so it's coming. As soon as I get everything under control. School, gym, bouncing/bartending, a life that *gasp* doesn't revolve around the forum, you know. All that stuff hahahaha :p

Edit: Abyss, they're funny in the aforementioned sense, and (To me I suppose) funny when used in seriousness. I say this because usually the individual using it in a serious sense has some serious issues understanding that there is nothing inferior about other races and types of people, and I find that in an age where information and understand is blossoming it's a little funny that people like that still exist. Sorry I didn't clarify there :p

Basically, dumbass racists crack me up because of their lack of understanding and cognitive function.

I could be asleep, but walking home (past ~3 bars) I ran into an young lass heaving her guts out and felt compelled to help. Got her water, got her boyfriend to take her home, but he was shitfaced. So I drove his car, and took them home. Which was fortunately no farther from my house than I was at their bar.

Which was more legal than that scumbag driving home (to their statistically likely deaths), because I don't have a valid license.

And you know what? I feel pretty good about that.

So now I'm walking home, since all the buses stopped running 3 hours ago.

The white knight is strong in me.

Good work Stormy, but it's one thing I'm wondering about. If the BF was shitfaced why did he have a car? Is it not any rules about drinking and driving where you are from?

Or was he just a idiot who drinks and drive? If thats the case then he can go and dive over a cliff.

I told him to take her home. And then he stumbled his ass to his car. There are extremely vigorous laws about driving under the influence. Which is why my driving them without a license or insurance was considerably more legal than what he was going to try- namely drive home as tanked as he was.

Does Blackberry not have a Sync feature? As in on Android I sync all my contacts with my gmail account so if I get a new phone I just hit sync again& there all my contacts are. Takes like a minute or so. I'm sure BB will have something similar...

BB does, but i'm going from a not-BB (Nokia C300... barely a smartphone) to a Q10, since once I manage to find proper employment, it'll be basically a necessity.

finally activated my new SIM card. the process now is, I need to sync contacts from old SIM onto my PC, import them into Outlook, and THEN sync them up w/ the BB...

I'm thinking it may be easier just to do it by hand. it'll also give me a chance to prune my contacts list.

the new major issue is the fact that Crackberry's desktop manager insists on handling music files through either Windows Media player (which I loathe with a passion) or Itunes (Which is a bloated piece apple software that I've never dealt eith before and I refuse to start now). Meaning i'll now have to actually deal with stupid Media Player...

I've always meant to ask an American this because I have always had the impression that DUI is not particularly frowned upon by US society. I'm not talking about the law, I mean public perception. There were lots of public awareness campaigns in the UK in the 80s and 90s and now drink driving is considered to be quite a vile act by society - the government is trying the same approach with smoking. There were lots of tv ads with dead wives and children and crashed cars. I've been out on business dinners in the US and my American counterparts have drunk nearly a full bottle of wine and then driven home and nobody bats an eyelid. In the UK they would at least try to hide the fact they are driving home from colleagues as nobody wants to be tarred with the drink driver brush.

In Canada it's heavily frowned upon but the prison system is fairly overloaded so the punishment frequently does not fit the crime.

I don't think it's any different in the US, but both countries have an abundance of idiots who think their alcohol tolerance is more impressive than it is.
I suppose there's also a societal reluctance to do much more than ask another person whether they're ok to drive. The grabbing the keys thing looks really good on tv but isn't quite as well-played in reality, imnsho, tho it should be.

The DUI/DWI penalties, jail time, permanent record status and overall price tags are pretty high. Yet people still do it because the American way of life in most cities is so strongly built around driving a car that it's just sher force if habit and massive ego to think that they won't get caught or get in a collision.

I know that the European penalties are usually higher, but it's not like it's a simple pat on the wrist and everybody goes on with their lives.

Yah, for personal use sure.

For business though, industry demands I stick with the Crackberry, at least for now.
In the end, there was an explorer-based way to transfer files. The horror that is Windows Media Player will wait for a better time that hopefully never comes.
As for contacts, did it manually. Pruned my contact list a bit as well while I was at it.

Really liking the new phone. Now if only I could find my old ringtone again.....

Nothing big, but Spotify has been misbehaving pretty badly lately. Very frequent error/disconnect messages, songs stopping and starting constantly, and it just now deleted all of my starred tunes out of the blue.
