so I heard that Arkahm city will be using Games for Windows Live ("gawful" from here on). based on the many negative comments, I decided to see if it has any effect on my games that use gawful, since i've recently moved my steam installation.
out of the 3, 2 refuse to launch. the third, Arkham Asylum, displays a "general protection error", which is related to gawful. trying to reinstall form windows website yields an installer that is not recognized as legit by windows. reinstalling via steam yields a Gawful client that crashes upon launch.

my frustration currently knows few bounds.

I nearly had to take you up on that offer... Apparently the lack of hyphenation in my name on my residents visa means that the computer thinks I should have a return flight. To South Africa... Thankfully it didn't cause problems once I got over this side though. Gave me a hell of a fright!

Was out at a musical with Lex, and we were having a rather nice night when I walked her to the station to see her off. The normal sequence of events occured and we started kissing out in the open. Triggering a wave of catcalls, hoots and lewd comments from a group of creatures that seemed closer to horny apes than men. We moved away, but not before enduring more of their shit, and one of them actually came all the way over just to harass us. Eventually they fucked off and we moved out of sight.

When it's amongst friends or people I know well enough, I'm fine with it. It's all in fun. But when a bunch of perverted morons who will probably blow their life savings on sex some day start disrespecting myself, Lex and hell, even themselves, that I cannot countenance. I know, you're probably going to say: let it go, they're morons, not worth your time. All of which is true. But it made so so fucking angry to see them act like that. It spoiled an otherwise enjoyable night, made us both feel embarrassed and now I have reservations about making out in public. So thanks a lot. Goddamn lowlifes.
