Things are getting real messy back home (Syria) with the death toll rising up to around 1600 and some of the vids I've watched today will bring many nights of troubled sleep, this coupled with the tragedy at Oslo is putting a serious dent in my groove. I mean Norway (well all of Scandinavia) is one of the most peaceful and least troubled parts of the world, they really don't deserve this shit...
on a minor but also irritating point, my xbox just got the Red Eye, if I was back home i could have had it repaired in 30 minutes for less than 20 $ but now since I'm in paris I'm gonna have to wait till mid September when I go back...

A buddy trolled me into smoking too much stuff on saturday night... don't think I ever threw up so vigorously. Jeebus, alcohol never ever managed to do that to me.

This is a case of the latest in a long line being the most annoying.
How is it, that even after all these years, my parents are STILL capable of interrupting me PRECISELY when something reaches the best/awesomest/most dramatic/intense moment and thereby RUINING THAT MOMENT?
Heck, it used to be music, before I had an iPod. Right when my favourite song comes on? "OK, we're going to bed now, turn the music off!". "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
More recently, video games. No, dad, the best time to talk to me is NOT in the cut-scene where the plot is being expanded upon/the protagonist is having a crowning moment of awesome! Nor is the best time to interrupt the game when I'm *clearly* in the midst of intense combat. The best time to interrupt would have been during that post-combat lull I had two seconds ago. Which crops up quite often. Or sometimes stretches for a long time.
And in this case, the frikkin' emotional climax of the previous 20 episodes is being reached, the entire episode up to this point, and the end of the last one, has been building to this tearjerking, heartbreaking moment, I'm RIGHT FREAKING THERE WITH THE CHARACTER IN QUESTION, and you choose now? NOW!?!??! To tell me you're going to bed? FUCK. OFF.
Sure, I only just watched this the other day. I'm on a rewatch spree before something else releases. Sure, this is just a small interruption. I probably shouldn't take it to heart like this. But for the past TWENTY YEARS you have been doing this to me, in one way, shape or form. And it is always at the SINGLE moment where you could best ruin my investment in the thing in question. How the hell do you do it? How is it possible for two people to constantly choose the worst possible time to speak?

I really need to trade my xbox with one of those new shiny black ones, but I'm strapped for cash and the hassle of data transfer between the old and new one is rather putting me of this whole thing right now..
also, the slim xbox pirating isn't up to date with the new releases, and since all you can find back home are pirated games (for 1$ a piece no less

My original-release-series Xbox 360 has had two lightning strikes, with no damage, and only one RROD (after five years of intensive use), after the (free) repair it got despite being out of warranty, I haven't had any troubles at all since.
The only downside to this is the fact that I still have but 20Gb of storage. Heck, if we weren't so damn close to the next gen of tech (at least, despite what M$ and $ony claim, I feel we should be seeing next-gen consoles in 2013, but if there's no news as at E3 next year, I might upgrade...) I'd be buying one of the sexy new 'S'/'Slim'/whatever 360s too. But RROD's are not a thing for me - in my experience, the reports of them being commonplace are grossly exaggerated. :S

Bleh. Locks. Besides, my point is, IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN. Whether I'm in the living room, my room, or the fucking attic. I could have a point-defense system on my door and window and they'd STILL find a way, I swear. Loud knocking and shouting would interrupt the mood just as much as anything, in fact.
Anyway, apparently my groove has been so thoroughly messed with, even rewatching the scene in question is not enough to recapture the moment. I think I'm going to go and sleep now, and instead, watch the entire past two episodes tomorrow to try and reacquire the atmosphere. If that fails, I'm going to enter a really, really bad depression...

Oh, and apologies for not getting back to you yet, Loki...I've been meaning to, really, but I'm distracted by lots of stuff right now (not just watching TV programs on my laptop, I swear!).
