I just got all my gear together and drove down to training to find it was cancelled. Which has pissed me off.
But then reading LOKI's post above puts that in perspective. Hope you manage to find a quick solution Loki. I'm sure your friends will rally round and help out.

Thanks everyone. 
I have to say, I'm starting to find things very amusing. So far today, I've found out I'm to be evicted through no fault of my own, just heard that my Dad is going to need total shoulder reconstruction from his truck accident, and I just stood on bird brains...yep, the cats thought they would be helpful and catch a bird, bring it inside, tear it apart and leave it in the hallway. To be fair, the blood and guts do make a nice post-modern pattern on the floor.
I'm going to go and curl up on the couch (after washing my feet), lock the door and beat the shit out of zombies with an iron pipe and baseball bat for a bit. That usually helps
I'm employing my practical personality as much as possible and have already found somewhere to store my stuff, a friend with a ute willing to move said stuff and a place to house my turtles. I've found a cattery I can afford for the cats but I can't think about that too much because I know what my cats are like and they are not going to do well there (I went on a holiday for a week once and had to come back early because Whiskeyjack had fretted so much a vet thought he was going to die if he didn't stop worrying - I mean, I know I'm awesome but seriously cat!) I'm going to lodge forms first thing tomorrow morning at the Department of Housing and then all I need to do is find some where to live for the next *unknown amount* weeks/months until a) I suddenly get well enough to work, get work, and can aford my own place or ii) it's January.
So far this year sucks. Mass Effect 3 better be as good as I hope in order to make up for all of this

It's really not a good year for you, is it, Loki? I'd get you a place if I wasn't on the other side of the planet.

I'm starting to hate our history of art teacher. What a stubborn.. Argh. When students tell you square in your face that the subject is HISTORY of art and that they don't know shit about any major epoch of art and ask you to at least spend a couple of lessons on this because you have no idea what to do with these lessons anyway, any sane person would listen, right? But nooo, why should he? Spending another semestre on some useless modern art lectures where nobody gets the historical references and you don't bother to explain is waaay better. We're, like, three students in the whole course who actually know a renaissance painting from a baroque painting and he's serious about doing modern art for the SECOND time now.
And the idiots named art students who don't know the history of what they're doing - well, trying to do - and are happy splashing paint on canvas and imagining themselves to be revolutionary are close to being worse.. Argh.
