My groove is messed with from work. I feel almost ill. I have either just taken a great opportunity or made a very stupid decision and I am not sure which right now. Either way I have asked for a year secondment from my supervisor (who is a great boss, and a lovely person as well) and I know how much it sucked for her to hear me ask that and I hated doing it and feel horrible
What's messing with your groove?

25kg took me about a year, I'm not looking for fast weight loss, I want to enjoy life too. Boyfriend will never help weight
My goal is not really to lose weight, but to be healthier and happier, so as long as I am feeling better and still enjoying life, I'm all good. I hate diet food, don't drink lite milk, don't eat diet cheese or butter, just reduce the amount of the bad fats that I eat and all that jazz. As long as you are happy with the way your feel and live your life and your health, then do whatever the hell you like

But I walk to to and from work, and I'm on my feet quite a lot during the work day. But yes, I know eating less, exercising more is the key to losing weight.
Actually, finding the right motivation is the key to victory with exercise. I am a total non-self-starter, which is why PT at work is good for me. Find a gym buddy, or better still forget gym fees and just get a friend that is either a good motivator or at least someone you can each guilt-trip the other into going for a power-walk, or a swim (yuck, I loathe swimming as exercise) or maybe using those random footpath exercise things that are all over the place in cities nowadays, usually in nice areas. Hell, even if you only do it at home all you need is some weights and a bench - a backyard picnic table and easily-gripped objects of various weight around the house can double. But most aerobic exercise is free if you start with a rapid walk (swing your arms, it helps) and slowly build up to a light jog over several weeks. Then extend the distance. Boring as shit, but mp3 players help (not near traffic though).

I only have one class tomorrow but it has to be at 7:30... The hardest thing a student can do is wake up to go to his earliest class if it is the only one he has that day.
I spend more time actually walking to and from class than i do in it!!!

@Grimmy: I too love food and I also love cooking, I just eat healthy foods (that I like) at home so that when I am out with friends I can have a treat and it doesn't matter nearly as much. Cutting down portion sizes also helps (if you need to)... and exercise... I hate dieting also, but since i have decided to be healthier (note: not DIETING) I have lost 25kgs and am feeling much better than I did a year or so ago:)
Oh, before I forget: before and after pics? Pretty please.....:-)

I've lost 8kgs since the beginning of the year...For me it was kinda easy...i just stopped eating everything i saw when i saw it and started running with a friend who does marathons...Nothing motivates you like knowing the person next to you could keep going for another few hours so you can keep going for a few more minutes.
also if you do run running on the road where there are interesting things(compared to on a treadmill) to look at helps too.
Slept through my alarm so missed my class...now i feel bad.

To add to the weight loss discussion I've lost 15kgs(damn it sounds alot better in pounds which is about 33) since Christmas of last year. I did this by using an elliptical trainer for 45 minutes a day prior to work and keeping track of my calories with no more than 2000 a day(hey I'm 6'4" ex-rugger). My goal is to lose another 15kgs, I'm going to keep the changes I've made to my diet and we'll see how much I actually lose.
