My prof keeps cancelling class! :veryangry:

Every once in a while this wouldn't be so bad but I've had 5 classes canceled in the last month and when you consider that (aside from labs) this course only has 8 classes a month... And I actually need to know this material for future courses I've been told. Better yet every time we have a test (there are 3 in total) he seems to cancel the morning lecture but not the afternoon lab period resulting in us not being able to get last minute help. Goddamn waste of money...

Check with your student rights bureau and see if there anything you can do.
I know here that unless the Prof's got a good reason to cancel a class he can't do it without the consent of the class.

The rest of my class is to blame unfortunately. Only 5-7 people in a class of 40ish typically show up now. The reason for this lack of attendance is unknown but I don't think the few should suffer because of the many. Hell the guy will only be sitting in his office doing nothing anyway so the least he could do is teach those who take the time to show up. As it stands we have 6 chapters left to cover before class ends the first week of April. At a chapter a week I don't foresee this happening.

Here, if a Prof did that he could very easily be fired! Even if one student is showing up, if he is supposed to be teaching the class, he can't cancel it without damned good reason!

Professors have pretty much infinite license here for class purposes. The administration has been encouraging fewer class days anyhow (budget cuts).

Had a very bad phone call last night, shitty news. I really, really didn't want to be here on this lousy course in the first place, but what meagre motivation I had to pass it has since evaporated since last night. I could not give less of a shit about it now.

Throngs of protesters on campus today. Not really protesting anything in particular. It's like "bring your sign and stand in the way" day.

I'll be lucky if I can push through to class today. I'll be luckier if I get through the day without axemurdering someone.
