It's a lovely 39 C here, so down from the uncomfortable blaze of earlier this week.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Nah. But it was 42-43 earlier this week and the difference is surprisingly palpable.

"Only" got to 99 (37) here today.

But by god the humidity made it to 100 fucking %.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I just don't get the world sometimes.
I mean normally I'm cynical enough to take in why humanity is destroying the planet and people are scumbags that will trample on their young for the the shiny gold.
I get the bigger horrid pictures of life.

But on a small person level, I just don't get it, the point, I have yet to grasp it. The length of timber behind the flint tip just breaks your nose

I have the opportunity to hook someone who's willing to give me work in my actual field, not the shitty stuff I've been doing for now, which means this SHOULD be in the happy thread, but I'm so nervous it gives me headaches. And the weather sucks!

Feeling better, up and about. The reason this is not in the Happy thread is that my body knows it could use more rest, but my schedule is insisting that I start working. Sigh

Bleh lost my copy of Dust of Dreams yesterday, went out but instead of going home first I went straight from the hospital and I left my book with a couple of people I know while I went to buy cigarettes, people and the book was gone when I got back a couple of minutes later - like 95% sure they didn't take it, because 1. what would be the point? And 2. They literally said, 'Oh don't forget your book' when I went to shop, telling them I'd be right back. No fucking idea where it went though, literally searched everywhere for it :/

Properly pissed off, I was at about p.1070 or so as well, so really not all that far from the end, was the scene where Olar Ethil meets Telorast and Curdle. Cant read tCG until I can get a new copy of DoD now, debating whether to start reading OST straightaway, not sure how long it'll take me to get a new copy.

Oh man that sucks! Could you maybe get a library copy to finish the book and get a new one later?

There are about 3 libraries within 10 minute walk from my house, so I'll probably go and check them out once Sarah gets out the hospital - hopefully later today - I've never even been to one of them before, and another one is very naff in terms of selection if my memory is not failing me. So how lucky I'll be I don't know, but worth a try like you say.

Don't worry, the ending of DoD isn't that important.

Bloody Spotify! Snotface installed it on my laptop and now it just won't uninstall. It's actually worse than itunes so far in that regard.

Turns out this is fairly common, some sort of "bug" that makes it a Labour of Geekules to remove it. Riiiiiiiiiight, sure, a "bug" that means you can't lose customers easily ... :D

The very first part of a program that should be endlessly tested to work perfectly is the uninstall function. Just like you don't create a weapon you can't destroy. Did the Terminator franchise prove nothing to these people? :p

Public transport - specifically bus seats made for Tyrion Lannister apparently. I was jammed in so badly today that I lost feeling in left leg below the knee. I think the joint is swollen up a bit

Weird, I have never had trouble uninstalling it via the control panel uninstall feature. That being said, I also control my installs pretty well.

My groove dislikes that with my admin support on leave I have found waaay more errors in her work than I should have, more than can be excused when maintaining payroll systems and vital business functions, and now have to have not fun conversations when she is back.

Bloody parents.

My Mum spends weeks sending messages to my brother and sister about how I never call, and how much she'd like a chat, instead of just picking up the damn phone.

And when I call her, I mostly just get berated about how noisy my kids are, and how they should be quiet, and how well behaved other peoples kids are etc. She wants to talk when they're not interrupting me with questions or asking for things - she just doesn't get that it's like that all the time, or I'm at work. In the evening when I'm not at work and they've finally gone to sleep, the last thing I want to do is have a chat with someone who manages to criticise every aspect of my life within a short space of time.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Got an outdoor game tonight round 7 PM. Weather forecast is "feels like 39" for today.

It's not gonna be a pleasant day

And she wonders why you don't want to talk to her? I think she has her answer. I would't worry about it so much. My mom gets like that too.

Just walked from my transit stop to work (in the 'saug) and at 8AM it's already hot enough to have the sweat dripping down my back. Good luck!

I...can relate to the constant criticism thing. It can be very awkward to handle
