why feel dumb?

Dumb because of breaking it off, dumb for tackling the singer girl so soon after breaking it off or feeling dumb for waiting so long to break it off?

Genuine question

It's more that I really felt, and feel, that I need to take a break from the whole dating thing. I broke up with a gorgeous girl partially because of that (though there were other reasons too) and the first thing I end up doing is making out with another girl.

Meh. Don't over analyse yourself unless you end up in an unbreakable habit.

You're probably right. In time it will feel pretty ridiculous to have worried about it. I'm sure it's mostly just guilt for having broken up with someone, I haven't done that much in my life, and I'm not absolutely sure it was the right thing to do.

Besides, it's not like a threw up on a dog or anything.

I wish I could stop trying to analyse why the mixture of pets and alcohol always leave me feeling ashamed.

Still my finest moment on the forums, the dog, not the kitten, that was decidedly a low point.

Regarding the rest.
I sorry if this makes me sound like a tool, but it was only making out with a chick, I don't see how that relates to you wanting to take a break from the dating scene. Just kissing someone is not a promise to enter into a relationship or even go on a date, unless you promised it/ insinuated it in advance.

I broke it off with the girl I mentioned a few times. It was deeply sad in some ways but also a relief. I decided I needed to take some time away from dating, and clear my head. Get a bit of a new perspective maybe.

I went to a concert on the same evening, thinking it would help get my mind of it all. I ended up making out with one of the background singers (supporting singers? choir girls?). I feel a little dumb, to be perfectly honest.

ergo ipso facto...

Yeah, quite possibly. I guess I still am confused by the whole notion of not being in the same relationship I always was.

Oh I have always known. When alone I dream of his hand on my back, his thumb rubbing my neck while his little finger scratches my bum.

The funny thing about romance...it's weird and crazy...and rather complicated! Hope this helps.

People who refuse to accept that there are voting options that aren't Labor or the LNP.

Seriously, if one more person tries to tell me that voting for Labor is better than risking another LNP government I'm going to scream. Basically, they're saying 'It's better to vote for this party who has a total disregard for the human rights of asylum seekers because we may, just may, get some decent reform on climate change or marriage equality.'

That might suffice for your conscience but mine doesn't buy that bullshit reasoning.
