My German Shepherd has tried to kill herself several times over the years and the thought of losing her never gets easier as she survives her own stupidity for a little while longer. She was my sole companion for a few years while my ex and I split and I kinda understand not wanting the end to get there. Just remember for as much as she has been there for you, you have been there for her and i'm a firm believer that animals understand the love that's given them even though they love unconditionally. You've given her 14 good years and she knows it. I hope things get better but if they don't, I hope you'll consider another animal to put that same love and attention and care into. Let us know if you need anything QT.

It's not just that it's Monday, but this has got to be the slowest start to my week i've had in quite some time. Can't quite nail it down to it's source, but I just feel so melancholy right now without good reason and it's put a grey fog over everything i'm doing at work. Lunch and a can of coke have yet to improve my energy level and i'm just super uninspired. Meh.

Oh, now the dog is sick as well...having xrays done on his chest as they heard a rattle in his breathing.
If both our pets are having respiratory issues...we may be experiencing SBS (Sick Building Syndrome) in our condo. If the dog's xrays come back with the same or similar inflammation to our cat...the building manager and condo board is going to hear from us IMMEDIATELY.
Hopefully not. Hopefully he's okay. I don't think we could handle losing both pets at the same time.

Before going to management, have you been doing a House MD search of your own apartment? What does the vet think could be causing them to become sick? Air? Food? Water? Is it their sleeping spots? Toys? Did you introduce something new to your apartment within the past 6 months like a plant? A piece of furniture? Clothes? Cleaning or hygiene products?

Heard from Vet about the dog. X-rays don't show any unusual respiratory issues, and thinks his vomiting and breathing might just be something innocuous and possibly dental. They are going to do bloodwork to rule out other stuff...but that pretty much eliminates the idea of it being a building issue. So that's good news.
With my cat the vet doesn't know what could have caused her issues. He said it COULD be enviro...but asthma is more common and especially in cats. At this point the major vet recommended a long-lasting antibiotic shot for her to help treat what is ailing her. We will get that done and see. But again, with her I'm preparing for the worst down the road. He said that the only other thing left to do is a severely invasive surgery to get lung tissue to biopsy, and that at her age he doesn't recommend it as it would be more traumatic than helpful.

Dead tired. Tried to play 2 games last night back to back- on with my team in a fairly competitive league, and one in a friend's team, in the lowest division- purely for recreation.
Not a problem in itself, though my back and neck were sore afterwards, cutting down my sleep time. Overall, slow day with many pointless calls. I've a few deadline this week, but none today, so me being less productive today isn't hurtful per se, it'll just mean I have to work extra hard on other days this week...
Still. Used to be, I could do 2 games easy and then party most of the night, and be fresh the next day for school/work. Getting older sucks.

Well, it's kinda weird that it affects me. I used to be quite serious about cycling and now some stupid kid, a 19 year old girl, got caught with a motor in her bike at the cyclocross world championships. As if all the pharmaceutical doping wasn't enough, now they're getting caught putting motors inside their bikes?
A couple of years ago there was a big controversy surrounding hidden motors at one of the biggest races by one of the biggest riders of that moment. I've always dismissed that case as bullshit, but now?

There's something wrong with me.... phantom body aches.... wobbly knees... feeling light headed. I just stared at the wall for 10 minutes and my amin thought was how awesome it would be to take a cross country train

Super long D&D session yesterday when I wasn't really in the mood for it. It's the only problem when you have to book a month or so in advance and we host - you can't really wake up in the morning and go "actually, nah" when people have already travelled. Still kind of fun, but i think Fiddler and I had virtually become symbiotic by the end and were both in "In the nicest possible way, get out of my house" mode . The cat actually starts herding people in the hallway towards the door when he's had enough.
I am definitely one of those people who has to do a troglodyte impression and live in a cave without human interaction every so often just to relax. Ah well!

Not knowing how important it is for your D&D group to actually sit around the same table, I'm going to throw it out: have you considered playing online? It saves on travelling and everyone can laze around in their own place. I'm talking about using something like Roll20, where you can all connect to one online conference and use the site for maps and rolling dice and stuff.
It's probably not for everyone, but it's saved my D&D group. We all live too far apart to keep a regular playing schedule without, but using Roll20 the campaign's been running for four years now.
Thanks, I'll keep it in mind. We usually do sit round a table and enjoy it, this is the first time it's coincided with me feeling somewhat antisocial to be fair. We have a player who has a habit of making really dumb decisions - usually it's mildly amusing if a little frustrating, but when not in the mood it becomes an all out annoyance I don't have the patience for. Sure it'll be fine next time!
By way of example: antagonist calls for a one on duel with one of the party, states multiple times he'll kill the woman and child he's holding hostage if anyone interferes. What is it fairly clear you probably shouldn't do in that scenario?
