Jeezus. That poor kid! I mean he's in the robotics club and built a little homemade clock...that's an achievement a 14-year old science nerd should get to be proud of. What the fuck is wrong with police and teachers in Texas man? they ought to all be reprimanded for this. I feel so bad for that kid. This should not have happened to him. These adults should know better.
As much as I hate to defend Texans that little incident is in no way a Texas only occurrence. This is what zero tolerance policies and unsubstianted fear mongering lead too. This little scenerio could have played out in thousands of different school districts across the country. Once the cops have someone in custody they'll find some way to charge them. After all if they weren't doing something wrong they wouldn't be in cuffs right?
Discretion and common sense are disappearing in this country in favor of government mandated actions. It allows morons to cover their asses and not think to deeply about things.

It's no wonder that people are getting stupider by the day.
Idiots are common throughout history, modern stuff, like the Internet, just confronts you with them more and more often.
On an unrelated matter, a friend of mine just received the news that the small lump in her breast she discovered by accident is indeed cancer. Now, the good news is that most of what I've heard so far included terms like "very probably a very early stage" and "likely to be highly treatable", but that word, cancer, always messes with my groove by reminding me of the ones who didn't survive it.
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'
'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'

Catholic canon includes the concept of "use of reason" (sometimes people also refer to the "age of reason" which is generally 7), which is the point at which humans are able to conceive of sin/morality/etc. so I imagine that's what the guy was hedging around.

And he brought that into a court testimony on molestation?
I just saw another piece, I'll post the link later about how priests accused of molestation in the US are transferred to South America or Africa without punishment where they are free to work in the parish and with kids. Obviously the local people don't know about his background.
This just makes my blood boil

My mother's habit of leaving food on the kitchen counter for hours even though it belongs into the fridge. Raw meat, for example. If you ant to cook, cook it. Else put it into the fridge. Don't just slice and dice raw meat and then wander off for hours. Especially in out bio hazard of a kitchen.

Messing with my groove is being computer literate. This means I get conscripted to help my mother prepare her geography slideshows for her school. 150+ images, downloading arranging, and having my mother yelling and jumping in excitement. Deaf in my right ear, and half mad from her inane questions about tech. 2 hours in, no respite in site

That "yelling and jumping in excitement" part had me almost spitting my tea on the keyboard, well done.

The most stupidest things can make me insanely happy, so I can actually see where she was coming from
Messing with my groove: there are no trains running between where I live and where I work today as of now (9am). Something something about a track switch not working (that's what they're claiming, anyway). So I'm sitting here hoping they'll work it out within the next hour or two, 'cause there there are no busses that go where I have to go *sigh*

So I manage to somehow come in to work, check the mails and yeah, thanks for the work amount that would fill several days.. I'm only allowed to work so many hours, and don't get payed a minute of overtime, and they've been stringing me along for months about more hours now.. I'm officially pissed off royally.
Edit: And yes, the system is so slow, I can take out the time to bitch about it on here while stuff downloads. Beautiful. I think I'm going to start looking for a new job seriously.

Corporate Manager for site comes in tomorrow. Last time he came out here we got shut down for 2 months and half the workers got laid off outright with only half of those coming back when things got restarted. That, coupled with a new diet and a beatdown new workout routine to get me ready in time for my wedding have me seriously on edge. So tired...

I had a slight headache when I went to bed around 3am. 6am I wake up grunting in pain and have to go take some Tylenol and layback down. 6:52am a mild seizure hits me. I didn't have full control of my legs or arms and I was trying to get down hallway to get my strong meds. Luckily my dad had just gotten up so he basically led me everywhere I told him until I got back in bed. It's now 12:35 pm and I have a slight ache but I'm weak from seizure. That's the 4th I've had since '07 and the 3rd most painful.
Ed: omfg...it's 8 pm and my head is so sore!!! I'm drinking Ensure to build up strength. I ll be weak for 2-3 days if this fit follows the pattern of the others.

What kind of seizure is that? It sounds like some kind of death without really dying
