when driving through alton towers car park late last year, i apparently caught a number plate on the bumper of the minibus i was driving.

This week i had to appear in court (in person) down in england (pretty much every other county in England allows you to plead by post) and was given 5 points on my licence (previously clean) and £485 in fines.

Not really that bothered about the points and fine, because if i did catch the car (and the evidence was fairly good, two different eye witnesses) then fair enough.

Its the having to appear in person bit, which lead to me pissing away two days holiday and spending near £200 on travel and accommodation. What a f***ing waste of my time.

Also, Dietl, does this discovery make you Fuhrious?
meh. Link was dead :(

It's hard to find a better time of year to discover a forebear than springtime for Hitler.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Hungover. And writing an assignment. On my birthday.

I'm aware I have only myself to blame for this, and that's making it worse!

Not looking like I am going to get out as a reasonable hour to see my fam before the storm of the upcoming rotation.

Apparently simply saying that minimum wage should be raised and that Canada should probably have a less racist justice system is 'radical' nowadays. Wait until they hear me saying that post-secondary should probably be free or at least heavily subsided by the gov't and First Nations should probably be talked to before you go fucking with there lands.

Also that fucking sucks Rageun Cajun, loss is never easy, you have my empathy.

My day is off to a bad start. Ex wife just told me about the imminent death of the 1st woman I went out with when we split in 2010. I feel torn up with her situation. :)

She's gone. :D

I am very sorry for your loss. It is hardest for those of us left behind. This is a poem I used to give to the families when I worked hospice. I hope it gives you some comfort.

Gone From My Sight
by Henry Van Dyke
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

I as well feel sorry for your loss Rageun, and it seems like that was a shock as well. Not sure if that is better or worse (been on both sides on that and am undecided).

Maybe not the thread for it, but I do hope you are talking about lands actually held by treaty. There are provinces with nearly every square inch claimed by Native Bands who haven't settled, and in some of those the total land area claimed is greater than that of the province due to overlapping claims.

Yeah I am talking about treaties, or land near treaty lands where industrial and mining operations are talking place. This is becoming a problem in Northern Alberta (the province I live in) for the health of First Nations, the increase in cancer and general lowering of standard of living. I do have wilder, and actual radical ideas when it comes to land ownership in Canada but I don't spout those as it would result in both my groove and whoever heard my ideas groove being messed with.

Anyways, playing to theme, land issues in Canada and legality of said issues messes with my groove.

Work.
Rather right really need to make a concerted effort to get the fuck out of my current job. Boss is an idiot, piling pressure on me and not giving me more men to cope. We're losing one of our best next week and his solution is a sparks mate from a fucking agency, to replace a senior electrician. Jobs going to go down the pan and he's gonna try pin it on me as I'm supervisor. Had a lead on a great job this week, didn't get it, the guy who's leaving us did. I wrote his CV for him. God damnit

Took the cat to the vets as she seemed to have something in her mouth bothering her, but not enough to be off her food or affected in any other way. Turns out she has quite an advanced tumour under her tongue and there's really nothing they can do. Advice was that while she's eating and enjoying life (which she is at the moment) then to keep her with us and spoil her a bit, and she will tell us when she's had enough and it's time to go.

Devastated as she's been my pet for thirteen years, but on the flip side we gave a terrified rescue cat a home and a very long, happy life. As many tears as I'm likely to be shedding over the next few weeks (all the vet reckoned we had) I think she deserves to spend her time with her nose in the box of treats if she wishes.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. We've actually decided to put her to sleep tomorrow. I've been away for two days this weekend and I can't believe how much she's aged in that time. It's the kindest thing, but it's heartbreaking.

Tough decision. :) I have one with kidney failure right now. We are treating him but I think eventually... sooner than later... we will have to make that decision.
