Had an interview a week ago, and I thought it went pretty good. It was for an entry-level position, in a field where I've been working for better part of the past year. I was given an assignment to do, same as all other candidates, and the interviewer implied that given my knowledge of the industry I'd have a far easier time of it than most.

I've done everything expected of me, but haven't heard back from them yet. One of the very few things I absolutely hate about my field is that here it's customary not to tell people if they've been rejected. I'm stuck in a not-knowing limbo.

I'd say your field isn't unique in that matter, whatever it may be. I once went through 2 phases of recruitment in banking, and after the third level interview... I'm still waiting. That was in january.

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Don't know what it's like out there in the great, big world but in Norway it's considered a good thing to call about the position after the interview it shows that you're really interested and confident a desicive all those lies you tell for a steady income.

They said they'll call or email within 3 weeks. I called after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks and 6 weeks, being told every time to wait just a little bit longer.

In the legal field in North America, it's considered extreme faux pas to do that. I'm following up regardless, but that's only because I currently have an ok-paying job (I'm looking for a non-paid position to do the job placement I need to do to get my license), and I have far less to lose than an average person.

EDIT: and I didn't get the job, either. FML.

It's half past three in the morning and I have an essay that has to be done by tomorrow.

Needless to say, it isn't done. I'm not that sure it's even close to done.

Working on a school project which involves some passive wireless sensors and until now everything has turned to shit. But now the manufacturer says that our transmitter/receiver may be the problem, and if it it. We'll have to wait another week for a new one from France.

So an old friend of mine died in a car accident the other day, and now I was in a bad car accident today. My car is totaled and while I hurt like hell all over, and have burns across my chest, I have no serious injuries.

If you don't want to take meds or ibuprofen too much, take a bath every day. Let yourself float for a while. It'll help with the soreness. Otherwise, stay as active as you can (keeps things moving and you'll get over the pain faster).

Also, best of luck with the car replacement process and insurance. Hope you aren't in any more accidents in the future.

Coming off the tail end of an all-nighter (not the good kind) and have to go do stuff in about an hour. And the essay I was working on could probably do with a re-draft before I submit it this afternoon, too(different essay from my previous bitching, if they didn't co-ordinate so perfectly it would've been far less of a problem).

Still, after today I can just crash for the weekend.

Work is crushing my face. Learn things and do all the things while you do all the things you did before. Also prepare for this giant project that we are entering into next month, while corporate demands more information regarding a solution you are the lead on, because they just don't understand the technical details of it, and don't believe anyone (including Citrix) about best practices.

Also I'm getting fat again.

I'm currently getting treatment for my hayfever, which is a good thing, but the way it makes me feel is not the best.. It's like hayfever season all over again, except with a hurting and burning arm where I get the injections and a house move on the horizon. I hope I'll be allowed to move anythign heavier than a book by then again [yay, only one shot of concentrated allergens left..] Also, I can't sleep with a blocked nose :p
