There are no real symptoms of high blood pressure. You just have to go get it checked. I always assumed that the sound of blood rushing in my head was a symptom of elevated blood pressure after way too much coffee. Was I wrong?
I also do recall one time I spent whole 2 days at very high blood pressure due to stress and I could feel the difference in heightened anxiety levels, headaches, said rushing sort-of-sound, slightly blurry vision...

I was hoping I would make it through life without being stung by a bee. Something viciously attacked me while driving today and stung me right in the jugular. It hurts but at least I am not allergic.

It was pretty much the most sexist thing ive seen online. Utterly bizarre but after a quick google the guy seems to be doing quite well out of it.

Just failed the test in my town for a part time Firefighter position. I have never felt so shitty about myself.

Went to Fire School in 2011, did well and loved it. Got a film job out of town after, which is my only other interest and something I've always wanted to do along with fire since I was in grade 2. So I moved there to work/learn and do smaller fire courses, but it wasn't as steady or even often as they told me, so I worked at a Loblaws too and starved my self so I could pay bills and make a profit. Lost my fitness level and some knowledge. Moved back home end of April, to officially try balancing the two. Failed embarrassingly. Dummy drag slowed me right down.

22, living at home, and seem to have nothing going for me anymore.

You're 22 and living at home, which means you have relative health and ample time and minimal expenses going for you.

The drag is notorious. Everyone hates the drag. A metric fucktonne of people fail, just because of the drag. But it's not supposed to be easy to run away from a fire, backwards, tired, with lousy visibility, wearing full gear and dragging 300lbs of unconcious fatty.

It's also really easy to train for (in the sense of you know exactly what it requires). Hit the gym and twice a week stuff some rocks in a sack and get to work dragging. Next time you'll nail it.

And if not, the time after that.

You could try rocks in a sack or lots of sand in bags stuffed in a duffle bag and heavily duct taped up to prevent zippers from breaking open.

If you've a military surplus store around, there's some cheap duffles there and you can reinforce the straps somewhat for pulling purposes if you're taking it up to 300 lbs.

Try finding things for exercises like farmer's walks and prowler pushing. Those'll help you in the training phases.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.
