Or Option 4: Have a bunch of quasi-friends online listen and make reassuring noises about facing what is a tough, tough situation to deal with for years on end. The really shitty part is that there's nothing anyone can really do to make it "better" - other than the father and he's shown no reliable indicator of doing that.

I can't remember if you're the one with the Cooper Works Mini, but if you are, go for a drive and perhaps a picnic. Don't deal with this for a day. It's rough stuff and hopefully, the radio silence method keeps working and you keep your sanity/money/positive outlook alongside your sister.

What's messing with my groove is the irrational system of "religiously significant" days for Hindu ceremonies to be done only on and the family/extended network of friends that actually want to adhere to that system. I don't particularly care about this, but they do, so I thus have to go along with this.

And I can't drink after the ceremony to cope either because I'm still supposed to be off the hooch for another four months. Gaaaaah.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Just heard about the organised undercover police operation that was carried out in order to smear and defame the friends and family of Stephen Lawrence.

Disgraceful.
I bet Robert Peel is spinning in his fucking grave.

Try turning 30.

Age is just a number, as they say (and it goes both ways). My brother is three years my senior, but I've always felt older than him. That's mostly because he's an annoying little snot.

First time I go swimming this summer. As soon as I walk out of the pool, it starts raining. As I'm biking home, I'm 3 kinds of wet--chlorine water from the pool, disgustingly-warm pool shower water, and the annoyingly cold rainwater.

Almost makes me miss Winnipeg. Almost.

the SCOTUS struck down a significant section of the voting rights act, which essentially forced the southern states to allow blacks and women to vote, since they couldn't make any laws restricting voting rights without the authorization of US Congress.

Although the SCOTUS only struck down Provision 4 of the act, that was the provision which determined which states were effected by the act, and so SCOTUS threw it back at Congress to decide how to rewrite that section. A Congress that is gridlocked by idiotic party divides and a House that is only ensured by massive Gerrymandering.

Anyway, the SCOTUS voted along 'party' lines, which it isn't supposed to do, and the Majority decision said 'Well, there hasn't been discrimination since we passed this law, so it is clearly a thing of the past.' I did enjoy the dissent, penned by Ginsberg, who said "The sad irony of today’s decision lies in its utter failure to grasp why the VRA has proven effective... Throwing out preclearance when it has worked and is continuing to work to stop discriminatory changes is like throwing away your umbrella in a rainstorm because you are not getting wet."

Meanwhile, Texas is writing a law to make abortions illegal once there is a heartbeat, which, for those of you who don't know, is 4 weeks from fertilization or 6 weeks into the pregnancy, technically. Which is most likely before anyone who uses birth control that suppresses or skips periods is going to realize they are pregnant, since there will be no symptoms at all.

The GOP doing everything in its power to retain its white-boy voting bloc majority, which is fast diminishing, and as far as I can tell, they are willing to utterly destroy the country to do it.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

In the U.S., the Voting Rights Act got smashed (more racism possible for everyone because, gasp, how much harder can we possibly make it for people of color to vote), Miranda rights are busted (silence towards police can now count in court as some sort of indication of guilt???), and SCOTUS also severely limited the Indian Child Welfare act so more native people can lose more of their culture while ignorant white Americans can wrongfully adopt ~those poor native children~.

There's also so much other shit happening globally.

The hayfever season's supposed to be over, at least for all the plants I've shown positive reactions to last time I got tested.. So why on earth can't I still breathe properly, or sleep through the night?

Also, tomorrow's my only free day of the week.. I'd love to finally get something for my uni project done.. but nooo, my mom decided I got nothing to do.. fml, I haven't found the time to tidy up my desk in weeks, when am I supposed to squeeze in doing stuff she forgot to do?

Also, gym.. I've got no time to go to the gym, and thus no way to get rid of surplus energy.. Great, just what I need right now on top of everything else.

Oh yeah, another sleepless night..

Kinda in between messing and making happy but Il post it here cause it was at the top. Being sent to Kelowna for work for 2 weeks. The bad part is Il be missing the long weekend and had to cancel my awesome camping plans and I'll be working from 6 30am to 9 30pm everyday even the weekends. Flight leaves so early it shouldnt even be considered next day and I'm here writing this instead of packing shit. On the bright side I will get paid to potentially get mauled by a bear or mountain lion.
No Touchy.

Anyone know what high blood pressure feels like? I been feeling like I've got a clamp on my neck.

There are no real symptoms of high blood pressure. You just have to go get it checked. (Or check it yourself if you have a sphygmomanometer and stethoscope, actually pretty cheap, and know how) Most of what people will tell you have been proven false, inconclusive evidence supporting them or are only visible at the extremes of high blood pressure. ie Systolic above 180 or diastolic over 110. Proven symptoms at these ranges are severe headaches, nose bleeds, shortness of breath, problems with your vision.

In relation to your problem if it has been going on for more than a day, go see your GP. :)
