2 days of intense footy+ work.

compbuned with 3 nights of not sleeping well.

Combined with the need to get up early.

results in my back feeling like a solid knot of pain.

Huh, I was coming to post about something similar. Being a grown-up sucks.

Does not knowing what an adult decision is make me young or old?

Press the big red LAUNCH button. It's the right thing.

Mom back in the hospital, (4th time in 3 weeks), she has an abscess in the surgery wound which has split open (they didn't leave the staples in long enough), so she's on antibiotics for that....now she also has a blood clot on her lung (so they need to put her on blood thinners), and she has pneumonia (goes with lung issues I suppose) which she'll also need to be antibiotics for.

My sister (who is NOT someone you want to piss off) is on her way in there to speak with the Doctor and find out just why the ball has been dropped by the hospital so many times with our mum.

I've told her if she's not happy after she speaks with him to recommend to my stepdad to have her moved to another hospital, cause the treatment she's getting right now is a fucking JOKE.

I"m pretty close to both LIVID and SCARED as shit for her.

I pray my sister can get shit done (she normally can).

Still, groove heavily fucked with.

You have my deepest sympathies QT. If you need help getting explanations as to what is being told to you, let me know, PM or otherwise.

Still not feeling the win. I'm getting stuff done today like a boss, but now had to sit down thanks to a bout of dizziness. I swear, I am going to be a hypochondriac after this is over.... oh wait... I already am one. :)

Unless you wash your hands in an attempt to wash away a physical affliction, what you suffer from isn't Hypochondira and is more likely to be Mysophobia.

Or the fact that constantly washing your hands is a requirement of working in a hospital :)

Wolfy - Filthy doesn't do you justice :p

Ummm...What do you call it when you get told about an old friend from kindergarten (whom you no longer remember) has cystic fibrosis, has 23% lung capacity, is in the 50s on the lung transplant list and you go to what might be her very last birthday party and have to see the emotion from people who have LIVED this since she was born?

‘Cause I don’t know.

You do two things:

1. You make her feel as if she is the most important person in the world while you are there.

2. You walk away from that party and live every last second of your life to the fullest knowing that such things can afflict anyone at any time.

EDIT: I came in here to post about a work problem which was annoying me....but AIJ's post put my stupid, piddly work problem in perspective with much worse stuff going on in the world. So I'm just going to suck up my work problem and consider myself lucky.

WELL LET ME JUST COME IN AND TALK ABOUT MY CUSHY WHITE PEOPLE PROBLE- oh

Jesus, that's a terrible situation. All I can do is echo QT's advice. I would not know how to deal with it in your shoes. Can't even imagine it. All anyone can do is... well, everything they can to make that person's remaining time as good as it can be.

Quote

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.
