This is what's wrong. Crazy people's access to crazy weapons with crazy ammunition capacities, and the folks who think that's just how it should be.

This is the dude who knocked Russ Feingold out of the Senate, btw.

Well, actually a crazy person caused the deaths. But you can't ban crazy.

The crazy person was the cause, but the access to such potent tools was what made the death rate skyrocket.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Not to derail what in all likelihood has been rehashed multiple times in the DB, but the President's motorcade is driving down my street today. Which means not only can I not park, I can't even walk to my house the way I usually go home because they're sweeping the route right now.

Just found out a friend of mine died while attempting to swim the English channel. He was doing it as a charity event, and had put so much time and effort into his preparations. He was very close to finishing too when he got into difficulties and they couldn't revive him (they're not sure exactly what happened yet).

Not sure if it's a good or a bad thing, but his wife was on board the support vessel.

He was a really nice guy and will be sadly missed.

Really sorry to hear that, mate.

Thoughts are with you and his family,

Ugh.

Yes, cause he could have caused such damage with tomatoes or sacks of nuts and bolts too right?

Nevermind.

He also had enough illegal and homemade explosives in his apartment to blow up the entire building.

So... yea...

Although I don't support all guns being legal for civilians (such as automatic weapons, I was a big fan of the 'assault weapon ban' that recently-ish expired), I don't have problems with hunting rifles or pistols.

Have an audition for a short film tomorrow but it's clashing with this participation in a psychological study I promised a friend I'd help with. Ummmmmmmm.

Hangover. Tis what you get when you enter a bar at 17.15 and leave at 1.30 without dinner (It is also called stupid). I also asked a girl out for dinner on sunday and only learned she's a vegan after doing that.

Also someone who is looking forward to the games should really make a thread for them.

e: Following a request from BBC Security, police denied a family access to their tower block home overlooking the Olympic site in Stratford for well over an hour, before having to acknowledge they had no power to do so.

On second thought, maybe not.

My "I don't know if I really want to be your friend" so-called friend is back on the no side of things...been flat-out ignoring me for almost three days now. And the worst part is that I know this person is selfish and often inconsiderate and I ought to cut them out of my life for good but I can't bring myself to do it just yet.

So basically, I'm a wimp.

I'm one of them. I honestly don't understand why some friends insist on continues contact throughout the friendship. Honour previously made agreements and arrangements, yes, but there shouldn't be any obligation to talk to all of your friends every fucking week just for the fuck of it. There shouldn't be an expiration date with option to renew on a friendship. Relax, talk to other friends and stop depending on one or two people for your entire social life.

LOL...actually, I agree with most of what you're saying but I'm not depending on this person for my social life - we don't even live within easy 'social activity' distance. My issue isn't with the fact that we don't talk every day, it's more the fact that she will ignore me for days / weeks (willfully or not, I can't say) and then expect me to be there when she wants to communicate...that's what bugs me. Friendship should be a two way street, no? Does that make sense? ;)

Makes sense. You should, if I may say so, instill a healthier sense of indifference.

Yeah, my solution was to just stop being the one who put in all the effort. It's been years now, and I still don't think she's noticed ;)
