The longer you go without a cigarette, the more you want it. I've had to work jobs where I had to go for a long time without, but by the time I got to smoke one I was ready to kill someone, lol. They taste the best when you have to wait for them like that. :)

They taste even better when you dip the filter in the blood of that person that just said good morning to you........wait what.

Virtual rep for that real lol moment. (Must remember not to say good morning to Bubba.... :) )
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

i don't smoke, so i may be talking crap, but i know friends who have gone literrally from social smokers to heavy smokers without even realising it. is it that addictive?

I know people who have gone off of heroin cold turkey with no rehab or therapy, but can't quit smoking. I believe that statistically this is true in general, that the smokes are harder to kick than the junk.

I'm thinking about some flavored tobacco but I'm not sure if I really want to smoke or do i simply need something new to keep me occupied when I'm bored.
AND in your forceful innocence you all believe you're somewhat special. That you're better than the sinners of this world. Well you're not special. Not on my internet ;P

interesting product that might help those who want to quit. I'm thinking about trying it since it has different levels of nicotine so I can ease myself off the stuff.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

I'm still trying to quit. I've cut back to smoking only on the Wednesdays when I go and play Rock Band with some of my friends. My rationale is that in order to rock, I must smoke...so...

it's stupid, I realize.

But I've cut down A LOT.

And I have to cut down more for Mod 1. :p

Friend of mine recently bought one off t'internet. I had a go on it and it was surprisingly effective, so much so that come pay day I'll be purchasing one. If only they did a roll-up version...

My most recent giving up attempt was, as usual, a complete failure. It'd be interesting to hold something along the lines of The Contest™ to try and ween us off smoking.

Frankly I feel at this point that smoking is my new retirement plan, why save money when you can spend it all now and just smoke enough to cut your life down to less then retirement age?

In all accuracy it doesn't.

Keep up the good work.

@GA

Do you still have that video of Sonnyboy having a puff instead of you when you tried to quit a few years back?

No :p I totally should have saved it but I didn't. I don't think the thread is still around, I would imagine it got lost in the move.

I miss Sonnyboy :p

My dad smoked for 10 years in his 20s, quit some fifteen years before I was born, and then died of lung cancer when he was 56. My great-aunt killed herself after suffering through emphysema for a few years.

I was always too grossed out by the smell to feel inclined, but those were some strong deterrents.
