Well, this one's a no-brainer. From all the descriptions in the Bible, heaven looks pretty lame...

Heaven seems boring. I wonder why nobody thought of something better, even the 7 virgins sounds like it'll get boring if it goes on for eternity. Maybe if you spread them out? I dunno. Just give me immortality so I can find a way to destroy the universe or something.

Immortality, definitely.

(Possibly a new thread could deal with what we'd do with our time while immortal.... )

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Immortality.

I need more time to work on my time machine.
The leader, his audience still,
considered their scholarly will.
He lowered his head
and with anguish he said,
"But how will we teach them to kill?"

poll should have a neither option
Imortality SOUNDS cool, but if you're the only one, you'd get bored and bitter and cynical (or in my case, more so, :D )

Heaven is... bleh. if you're always content, it gets boring. life's about experiencing exhileration, if everything's handed to you on a plate, that's no happiness

for me it's either nirvana, when nothing'd matter, or just a death with a finality.

i agree there should be a neither option bcos heaven would be laaaaame and if you lived forever could you deal with the overwhelming pain of losing everybody you knew again and again? plus it would be fair boring if you hand forever to live because after awhile youd have done everything.................altho i would like to learn to play a holophone :D

Heaven is immortality, silly. From the descriptions in the bible, heaven means basically ascend.

Nope, Earth is no longer part of the equation, I mean a continuation of this life as its running indefinitely, without god or heaven or the devil or angels or cherubs or imps or chariots of fire or route 666 mobiles, oh and a huge big no no for hell. But you knew that didn't you? ;)

You misunderstand me. But that's my fault, I wasn't being clear.

My idea of heaven is not your idea of heaven. In fact 'heaven' is more than one place - for instance, the bible clearly states that there will be a new 'earth', where immortality will only be the beginning of a completely new story.

I don't dibble in clichés, and neither should you.

In short, your poll lacks relevant options for me to vote.

No, but you did say that you were christian, and I'm fairly certain that the bible might just be your holy book, and I was going by what they had there. I may have added imps and route 666 mobiles for posterity. Lets keep it simple: The immortality I describe is your life here on Earth as its running, with one big bonus. Heaven covers all the other ideas.

I'm not dibbling (New word alert! Call Oxford dictionary) in cliches: my heaven, your heaven is still some form of heaven...right?

Can't even keep things simple these days, oh well ;)

I choose ascension..

On Earth. Not heaven.

It would be so cool. I'd get superpowers and all.

But really, Only if I'd have a girl along for the ride as well.

The implication that I should have more than one girl implies a superiority that the male has over the women in regards to polygamous relationships.
I reject that notion.
Yes If I would live forever I wouldn’t mid taking along someone else for the ride. Assuming they would want to as well. Otherwise Immortality would be terribly lonely.
