I seem to remember Dexter has a pretty large fanbase here, so I reckon he deserves his own thread :D. From what I've seen thus far of Season 3, it's going to be another good one :D.

SPOILERS FROM UP TO EPISODE COMING UP - READ NO FURTHER UNLESS YOU WANT THEIR SEARING LIGHT TO SINGE THE BACKS OF YOUR EYEBALLS, RENDERING YOU BLIND.

So the first episode wasn't quite up to the standard of Season 2 in terms of nailbitingness (technical term), and to start off with episode 2 was the same way. But Prado catching Dexter in the act? That changes everything! Now I'm really excited to see what's going to happen next. It seems like the producers are trying to emulate the thrills they delivered in Season 2 by putting Dexter in a load of hot water again - I have a feeling someone is going to see the blood on Prado's shirt and start asking questions.

Plus, it sounded as though Freebo wasn't actually Teagan's killer - he seemed pretty vehement in his denials that it wasn't him (from what I could tell from around the cotton buds stuffed in his mouth, anyway). I have a feeling we might be seeing a new serial killer at work - that patch of skin taken from Teagan reminds me an awful lot of Dexter's trophies.

And it seems they're breaking out the C-word this season. Obviously they've decided Deb isn't foul mouthed enough already. I like her interchanges with IA-girl, and I have a bad feeling about that guy who gave Deb the source, especially the way he reacted when he realised where Deb had got her information from.

Still missing Doakes, but Masuka is still funny, and hopefully in time they'll manage to find someone to fulfill a similar role (I'm thinking LaGuerta will step up to the plate).

Yeah, I'm liking the season so far. It is strange for me since I saw season 1 and 2 after they were done for the year so I watched them back to back to back.

I can't wait to see what happens between Dexter and Jimmy Smits character now. Should be good.

And yeah, I still miss Doakes, he was so cool.

I know what you mean - I watched Season 1 straight through and then watched Season 2 as it came out. I actually think I enjoyed the 2nd season much more because of that - as the net closed tighter and tighter on Dexter, you found yourself looking at the situation and wondering just how he was going to get out of it - you had a whole week to puzzle it out, and then you were invariably wrong. But when I got to see two eps at once, the power of them was greatly diminished in my eyes.

I was thinking that Dex purposely wiped some of the blood on Prado's shirt to implicate him in the murder should anyone figure out that Freebo was killed...anyway it's setting up a season-long entanglement b/t Prado and Dex.

I'm enjoying the season so far. ;)

Curious to see how he handles the pregnancy too...

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING POST CONTAINS SPOILERS OF A PERMEABLE NATURE. DO NOT LET THEM PASS THE BLOOD-BRAIN BARRIER, OR FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!

So, I enjoyed the last episode, although they turned away from a chase type thing like they did last season, which is a shame. But they're trying to move in a new direction, and I like it. I'm going to posit that the Skinner is actually one of the Prado brothers. Of those we've seen so far, they are the only non-Police people to know of the connection between Teagan and that miniPimp that we saw in the previous episode. It would be ironic that this friend Dexter has found is also a serial killer, although perhaps too convenient. But consider his mentality - he is the guy who puts guys away, but his father still considers him a failure. Possible next step: bring the bad guys to justice however you can? He sure harps on about justice a lot, and the fact that he was going to Teagan's house to off Freebo suggests he's definitely capable. The only piece of evidence that doesn't fit is the pieces of skin the Skinner has removed - if he was just out to kill people connected to the case, then why would he bother to keep trophies?

I still feel like it's not quite as much of a rollercoaster ride as last season was in terms of thrills. I liked the bit with the milk, that was cool, and Dexter's way of getting his sister to find out the name of her corpse was very clever, but other than that there as much there for me to enjoy. Masuka was funny (insult against my people ;)), but I'm still missing Doakes ;).

The scenes with Dexter and Prado are pure electricity. They're definitely stepping it up, you can be sure there's some twists to come, they can go in so many directions with this, so the thrill and hunts will probably come sooner or later.

I am liking the new season but I somehow think they're begining to make Dexter a bit too human. He doesn't seem as much like the monster he really was in season 1.

I don't know, I thought the last episode really showed his inhumanity. You could see he really didn't understand what Rita was going through, and his singlemindedness about making sure that he still was going to have space for his Dark Passenger made me realise just how different he is to everyone else. This is the first time I've really seen him as a psychopath, especially the way he looked at Prado at the end *shivers*
