I'd find it very strange that the KotCG would not be around in tCG.

My first thought upon reading that Karsa would have to kill a god that it would be K'rul, mainly because Karsa the one "good" guy that really has no qualms about fighting other "good" guys.

See his desire to destroy civilization and others... etc. etc.
I would give my left wing for a copy of deck of dragons cards...

I highly doubt K'rul is the target. Why would any of the playerswant to destroy the prize? The only reason for such drastic measures is if you think your cause is hopeless, and none of the major players have taken this point of view yet.

The crippled god is also doubtful, as Karsa is to stay in Darujistan to do the deed, which is not where the series is being ended (as far as we've been told).

More viable options seem to be Draconus, Oponn, the Errant etc.

The secondary question that goes with this, and one I have not seen mentioned, is does Calm kill Karsa at the end of the fight?

I still think that the KCCM are going to be the big nasty in one of the final books. And I betcha they've got a god. And as much as SE seems like the guy to hate storybook endings, I betcha Karsa would hate their "civilization" just as much as any one he found wandering around the rest of the world. He's not just going to off some God because he encounters one - he's got too much good spirit for that.

I feel like I need to tie together a few good points made in this topic

1) Karsa is a god, now.

2) Karsa is going to kill a god.

3) Karsa has at least 1 worshipper.

4) Karsa hates civilization, and most likely the idea of worshippers

My crazy theory is that Ublala acts as some sort of recruiter and begins to gain Karsa followers. Karsa finds out in some way, and offs himself. SE loves tragedy - what better than that?

Maybe Karsa offs the rest of the Gods of War, and becomes the big guy for real.

i can see it, the last scene, karsa stands on a bloody field of battle covered in the corpses of countless thousands, demons, humans, k'chain, hounds, imass, jaghut, and just about the last dragons in existence. he holds his stone sword high in the air and stares down upon the helpless god at his feet.

From the rubble of a skykeep the tall thin form of a Forkrul Assail emerges, its shadow slithering over to lie on the face of the Toblakai's intended victim and he looks up.

"I am named Calm, kill him or not Thelomen, i will then bring peace to you."

Man, I think the term "God" in MBotF is used pretty loosely. Case in point, Iron Bars and his crew offed 10 god in one night in Lether. Sound like a song..."one night in Lether and the worlds your oyster, the bars are temples but the pearls ain't free...."

On a side track, the Errant is new awakened to all his gruesome glory and is pissed that Oponn even exists. What if he comes to Darujhistan to settle up and Karsa gets to take his pick of who to kill?

Iron bars offed six, and got his ass handed to him by the Seregahl, but then Silchas saved him :)
I'm praying Karsa meets the Errant.

I expect Karsas to be a bit more important than the sereghal. Hopefully, with all the build up. Draconus, perhaps? Or whoever is in the moon.
And father light isnt around still. Now mother dark is, i'd expect him to show up.

I get the feeling Father Light is dead, tbh. Or maybe he was in the moon with the Hounds of Light.

IIRC, the story that is told in MT(although you cant trust much in MT, due to the twisted myths of the people) its brother light and dark up there. Now who could qualify for that is of more interest to me.

Osric could easily not be the only brother light, since we know little about the Liosan, but another brother of darkness? I think we would have heard about him, surely?
Although it could just be misinterpretation on the part of the edur.

There were plenty of high-powered Andii, remember. Its possible they were all interrelated, they seem kinda into incest, lets not doubt it.
Osric is THE Bastard of Light, but I dunno why, that name just creates a singular feeling, that he is FL's only kid.

Yeah, Osserc feels only child. However, it wouldnt be the first time SE had surprised me. Also, FLs been gone for ages, so there may be more wherever he is now.
What about Hood? He's still a god.

Edit: Although I lean towards a war god. Dunno why. Although, we know Scabby wasnt the original Father Shadow, he murdered the royal house of edur. If he couldnt kill Silchas, could he properly kill them, or are they lurking about the place? Say, Tulas shorn. Or edgewalker.

True but he's hardly mortal Empire God. :) And without HHD behind him, I don't think he'd have a chance, to be honest.

Its theorized he was king of the ice hold, before that. So if he goes back to that, then he'd be very powerful.
Also, any jaghut with the power to even gain a position like that has some serious power. People seem to overestimate Karsas magic resistance a lot.

He surrendered that title, and Omtose Phellack is nearly dead anyway, only Pannion is able to unveil it properly, I thought?
He also had an army of Jaghut behind him, not many people can say no to that, although whatever Elder God was originally Death must have been a scary guy.
I'm not factoring in Karsa's magic resistance, actually, I rarely do, he's only immune to weak magic anyway, it seems. He's not an Otataral sword, he's like Otataral lite lol

Perhaps having no king is what led to its weakness. as well as the fact that there are few jaghut left. And he could unveil it fully. Its just that, when he does, any Imass know where to find him.

It can't be Hood who Karsa needs to kill.

I thought it was Hood who sends Toc to deliver the message to Karsa.

Well this is a crazy theory, but perhaps the god Karsa is supposed to kill is Paran, Master of the Deck. Paran made a deal with Hood, could that deal have been forward looking. Hood planning on entering Dragnipur would leave the Death Warren without a king. Would the new king of death require Paran's sanction the way the CG needed the Master of Deck's sanctoning before the House of Chains could take its place in the DoD.

If this is the deal Hood made with Paran, I'm thinking it could be that Karsa was asked to kill a god because Hood now believes either Paran will reneg on his deal and find another king other than the one Hood selected as a potential successor. And if Paran is not the target then it could be whoever it is that Paran eventually selects.

I know this is way out there, but no one knows what deal Hood made with Paran. Now with the events of TtH, a vacancy on the throne of death, well, I figure anything is possible with SE.

My only other thought was that perhaps the Redeemer is the target, again to keep him from taking Hood's throne because Hood had already picked a replacement.

So shoot me, none of this is based on much fact.
