FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Lisheo edit- keeping the page from stretching.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Yeah, I heard that before, it just doesn't work for me though. Besides, finally free from the burdens of running the House of Death for all those millenia to be replaced by another ball and chain. Hmmm nope, doesn't work for me.

Is ICE defintely picking up Karsa's storyline? I'd find that a bit dissapointing somehow....

Not definently. It's official that Erikson is doing a Toblakai trilogy. That may take place in the Elder Times but it would also be obvious if he chose these books to wrap up the Teblor story... perhaps linking it together with the rising Tarthanal.

I think the 'God' is the Tyrant, whenever it returns to Darujhistan.

I'm with our feline overlord on this...

The god Karsa has to kill is probably K'rul... I have long felt that at some point in the series, K'rul's structured warrens etc. have to end and be replaced by a more limited and limiting form of magic (or no magic at all), so that the world can be less chaotic.

That said, the death of magic would make any sequels significantly less... well... magical.

I think that given it was Picker that was chosen to deliver the message (considering her affiliation to Treach/Trake) that it'll be Fener who buys it, thus reducing the competition for his place in the pantheon.

Nah. Fener is trapped in the mortal world in Lether he isn't competition for Treach. And anyway Treach isn't the biggest God of War anymore. The Wolwes took that place.

Don't suppose that if the Wolves were assailed, Treach would want to take their place?

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Well im new to the forums , so hello all.

SE and this set is hands down the best I have ever put my grubby hands on. Im in the US and since MoI I have bought the books from amazon UK because I couldt wait for them to come out in the US.

Dessembelaickis would be neat.

But my thinking is Icarium, how cool would that be.

Also what about the seguleh? at one point in the books it was mentioned that they were the waiting army for or aginst the coming tyrant.

BTW SE you owe me royalties for turning 20ppl on to your books Posted Image

Lol...if Dessi is the god Karsa will kill, then I'm going to laugh.

The Seguleh were indeed the Tyrant's army. However, I can't see them acting in that capacity again.

Anyone remember the epic poem from GotM? It was about Caladan Brood, right? And that you should never wake him up, if I remember correctly.

So, 1 theory is that after Rake's dead he has nothing to keep him sane anymore. (you really don't know much about his past after all.)

Another theory is that Burn must be awakened, and Karsa is strong enough to swing Brood's hammer if he gets his hand on it.

As much as I don't like it, I think the tyrant could be Caladan Brood.

edit: And didn't Baruk weap while he was riding the carriage with Brood? Maybe because he knew that Dragnipur had to be destroyed, but it would also mean the return of the Tyrant?

Ooh. The tyrant being inside the sword all along is an interesting idea, only problem is no such thing was hinted at.

Well, Crone mentions that Broods past was sort of wild, or whatever. The other thing is, im not sure it fits, considering he spent a lot of time roaming with Rake etc.
So unless he was the tyrant prior to that, and those people kept him under control, perhaps like Icarium.
You also forget, the hammer isn't just about strength. Brood is Burns warren, tennes.

Caladan Brood, the menhired one
winter-bearing, barrowed and sorrowless,
in a tomb bereaved of words,
and in his hands that have crushed anvils-
the hammer of his song -
he lives asleep, so give silent warning
to all - wake him not.
Wake him not.

Maybe Rake's death woke him up, eh? :)

Could be, especially that part about the tomb. It'd be bloody interesting (not to mention unexpected) to see Brood go round the bend. But sad too, yes.

Please people. Most poetry works with metaphors. The poem is referring to the hammer and Broods duty. It's not implying that he was some kind of "barghast icarium" before he met Rake or something like that.

Rake and Brood were the perfect companions because they both carried their own terrible burdens and together they were stronger for it. In MoI we hear that Rake and Brood agreed to wait before using the hammer while they waited to see what time might bring.

Now Dragnipur is gone and Rake is dead, but Brood still carries the hammer and has a crysis to avert.

When did we get confirmation that he will be doing a Toblakai trilogy. I know that hes doing a Tiste Trilogy, and that he was also doing a second trilogy on a story thread that will be unresolved in TCG. Thats the Toblakai trilogy now?

EDIT: Never mind, I found the thread in announcements.

Yes, yes, fair enough. Although it's kind of strange that Fisher kel Tath wrote a poem about that you should NOT let Caladan wake Burn up, and save her. I mean, Fisher doesn't strike me as the guy who's afraid of the annihilation of the world and pointless things like that. :)

But anyways, Caladan being the tyrant seems more likely to me than Kallor being him, atleast. After all, he is Berghast with something beasty and frightening about him! :p
