Does biltong cure hangovers?

Does it go well with eggs and other fried products?

Is it the most delicious sandwich product known to man?

No?

Bacon is. Therefore, bacon is the winzor.

Yes. Biltong is capable of all of the above, but for sandwhiches and eggs you'll need something finely sliced and reasonably soft. Very good with Feta in an omlette.

Can you buy bacon over the counter at a pub?

Could you sit in a sports stadium with a big packet of bacon?

Can you enjoy bacon while drunk without there being a definite possibility of setting something on fire?

I know of some where you can, yes.

You could and it would be superb, just cook some bacon, stick it in a sandwich bag, take and enjoy.

Of course you can, what do you think I do when Im drunk?

Put it this way, bacon's so good it's enjoyed by everyone the world over.
Biltong is enjoyed only by Saffers and people with links to Saffers. If it's so good, why do Americans rate it below jerky, and noone is clamouring for biltong elsewhere?

Im not saying it's not delicious or whatever, but to claim parity with bacon is MADNESS.

And I dunno if I would say better, but Biltong does at least tie bacon in the awesome category.

HERESY

TRUTH!...YOU PAGAN

As hard as it isto believe it is true... i would choose biltong over bacon everytime.
I'm here to even up the numbers of coasters to highvelders... and alt you forgot blacklabel...best beer ever!

Hey bud, glad to see you stumbled on this thread. You joining us for Koppi this year?

Had biltong at the malaz bbq. Very nice stuff. No bacon, though.

Which of you lot lives near Blomfontein? I'm planning to go out there for a couple weeks within the next year.

A family friend runs an orphanage and a farm out there and I'm sposed to have been going out to volunteer there for about 5 years now. As I'm starting to get paid and should have plenty holiday built up, I'm seriously considering it, next summer seems like a good time for it (summer being your winter, so temperatures I may be able to live in).

Confused
I became confused when I heard the word 'service' used with these agencies.
South African Revenue 'Service'
Postal 'Service'
Telephone 'Service'
Municipal 'Service'
Civil 'Service'
South African Police 'Service'
Customer 'Service'
This is not what I thought 'service' meant.
But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'service' a few cows.
BAM!!! It all came into focus. Now I understand what all those agencies are doing to us.
You are now as enlightened as I am.

I live in Witbank (Sigh) and spend as much time as possible in Pretoria - My girlfriend's mom stays in Bloem though, so I go down there for a week or two a year. I'm sure I could time a holiday for whenever you're here Toby.

You'll have to stop off at the Airport in Johanessburg though, so you might want to check out Gauteng (which is much closer to me) for a day or two before you head to Bloem.

This is good if you like Football, just remember everything (especially flights and accomodation) is going to be hideously expensive for that month if the Confed cup is anything to go by.

Fortunately, a mate (who is of saffer stock) has suggested we go to the world cup at that time, as his relatives will put us up, so I could twin the two visits and do everything at once. The problem will be getting the time off work, but I'll give it a shot!

Awesome, whereabouts are they situated? I hope you can organise tickets, apparently they're a bit of a pain to get hold of.

I think so far we have potential places to stay in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria, and Bloemfontein - just depends if and where we can get tickets for! Fingers crossed, if we can pull our fingers out it should be a cracker.
