On Friday my forced No-Alcohol for Two Weeks is up. Mrs. QT pledged to give up alcohol for two weeks to lose the extra daily calories before heading off on a cruise with her family for the next two weeks, and I joined her in support so I would not be drinking around her and making her wish to drink as a result. As of Friday night I am free to consume the beer and wine again.

Funny sidenote: She gave up about two days in to her pledge. I stuck to my guns / willpower and have gone without for nearly two weeks.

Ten years and counting, mate. Let me tell you, it's not worth it. Alcohol is your friend and should be consumed all day, every day.

My boss is awesome. Need the night off work? All available leave slots taken? That's OK, we'll get someone to come in on their day off and cover. What? No-one is available to do that? Oh, well, in that case...do you want to work the day shift? Then just take the night off, no annual leave needs to be used.

I should point out, this is the day shift I was already going to work anyway and my boss asked it really surreptitiously. :D

On the downside: tomorrow is the last day where I have awesomeBoss. Next week is annual team rotations. *sigh* Though newBoss should be OK; everyone at my work is pretty cool. :D

Boss-love is disgusting to mine eyes, hie thee hence, knave!

might be about to swing a company paid phone, take the perks where you can I always say
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Met big Stevo tonight. Lovely chap.
I actually talked to HIM personally during a smoke break, and kissed his arse a bit. REALLY cool.
Heard a reading from The Forge of Darkness (apparently one of the first to do so, he told me!) and bought a signed copy of The Wurms of Blearmouth as well as getting my TCG hardback signed.
All in all a great night and thoroughly worth the 6 hr round trip.
Top kudos to my brother in law who accompanied me, having not read any of the books, just to keep me company. Top bloke also.

Nice.

There can only be one top bloke, Solid. I'm afraid you're going to have to choose between them.

Three hours to go until it's a long weekend (happy Canada Day!), I'm going out to supper with the family tonight and I may be going to the waterslides either Saturday or Sunday. Dammit but I do love me some waterslides! All I need is a grape popsicle and I swear I'd be feeling like I'm 12 years old again. :D

Going camping for the Canada Day long weekend. :)

The amount of unhealthy/garlicky shit I will cook and consume tomorrow during the 1st stage of the Tour (yes, technically the 2nd) and the Euro finals. Homemade guacamole, homemade aioli, olives that I'm going to make a seperate oil for, devilled eggs WITH BACON, chicken paella (one of the visitors doesn't like things that swim, sadly), peaches with almond cookies, strawberry and wine filling (might even crack open champagne)... yumm. Add a ton of ciabatta, spanish and italian sausage (yes, there's a method to the madness) and about a bath-tub of french cheese.... that final'd better go to penalties!

The fact that you have Kylie Minogue on your iPod explains why you were walking through the Pride celebrations.
