Vodka is making me happy.
And not only because I'm drinking it.
It's netted me a few first kisses as well, lol.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

The gf's been out of town for the week, so I've been taking the opportunity to indulge in some of my more solitary proclivities, such as finishing Dragon Age 2, catching up on the past month or so worth of Conan episodes that I've missed, and having finally started reading tCG this evening (and just finished brewing a pot of silver needle jasmine tea as well)

"But I saw you [Snake]…faced by Anomander [Mandy] himself. How did…"
"I escape? Well, I dazzled him with fancy words, edging ever closer, then used my ninja skills to strike like a cobra, knocking the sword [Spamnipur] away and drop-kicking him over the side before tumbling backwards, slaying another Piss'd Andii on the way."
Silence. Lots of silence. "Fine!" He shrugged and grinned, "Someone hit him in the face with a coin, and he cursed just long enough for me to get away." ~ Excerpt from Gardens of the Tea Spoon

Steven Erikson and Ian C. Esslemont are making me happy with all their creativity - The Crippled God, I am just past the halfway mark and enjoying it a lot; recently finished Night of Knives, enjoyed that too - and I still have the novellas and two Esslemonts to read; the sheer volume of Malaz adventure already published makes me really happy (and forget A Dance with Dragons).

I wouldn't be so sure, Sombra.

You people have sick, twisted, depraved minds. Depravity is what it is, I says!
Now, if you all will excuse me for the next 30 minutes or so, I've got a couple of lady friends to visit, such as Rachel Marie Oberlin, waiting for me in Palm-dale.

And in my defense, Sombra, it is a doctorate in Spamology, and I drink the tea out of a tin of spam, where it must sit for a minimum of 576 hours, so as to properly acquire that subtle, delicate flavour of mystery meat.

Saw the pictures from last night, and apparently it was more epic than I remember.
Picture of my friend Sam, playing the part of the Greek God of Meat.
[picture!]
I just realized that I haven't figured out how to save pictures from the new facebook pictureviewer, and I am too hung-over to figure it out. Anyhow, imagine a very tall jewish man in a makeshift-blanket-toga wielding half-a-roast-chicken in one hand.

GET OUT OF MY BEDROOM STORMY
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Will you lot stop posting about the shallow yet wondrous comfort that is alcohol? I've been on the wagon for 2 weeks and it's starting to get to me! I feel disgustingly well, even the strange pains have gone away!!!
And I spent the whole afternoon reading tCG. I'm dying to know how it ends!!!
AND AND AND, now Rocky IV is on tv

This weekend is looking to be a ripper.
Friday (not technically the weekend I know but anyway): Last day of classes and extended drama lesson with my friends.
Saturday: Get out of dumbass school rowing competition for 2 leisurely hours of lawn bowls. At night, catching up wqith friends and my new lady friend for some Nandos, a play, and an after party which promises to be extremely....entertaining.
Sunday: Study sesh with my friend at his house.
Let's get these shitty Weds and Thurs out of the way and let the good times roll!
