Man City got found guilty of 114 out of 115 of their cheating charges haha have that you scumbags!
Now, I know it'll never happen but if they stripped them of their titles from the periods in question (2009-2018 I think) then Man Utd would get 2 more trophies (the bin dippers would get 1 but you can't have everything I suppose) and one of those two was the Aguerooooooo season which would be delicious to undo haha
Anyway I'm sure they'll hold it up with appeals or whatever for the next few years and nothing of actual consequence will happen to them, but now at least it's official that they're cheaters and that their vaunted legacy (including that of Pep) is tainted.

Sadly I agree that it will probably come to the sort of fine they can pay out of pocket change and little else by the time they've frustrated the process for as long as possible, but it's an overwhelming result nonetheless that it's not half or even most of the charges, it's all but one of them!

Everyone now knows without doubt that they are cheaters. Any legacy the Sheik et al were trying to build is irrevocably tainted. That's something I think. I'm still holding onto a bit of hope that they will absolutely SLAM them with punishments because it will absolutely send a message to them and stop other clubs from thinking it is OK!
The Premier League really do need to go nuclear here.
They've tainted the league over the last 10 years, it is just ridiculous that it has took this long to get to this point.
Everyone knew they were cheating. Going from a mid table PL team to a team with higher revenue than Real Madrid in 5 years?! That just doesn't happen.
It'll be interesting to see if any of this fallout also hits PSG, they are blatantly cooking the books too but Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has played the game well and is all cosy with UEFA.

I'm amused that I got the following two comments literally in a row...
Girl as I was leaving the Weirdo festival, apparently commenting on my mask and wardrobe: "You slay."
Hood girl as I was walking by: "Why you wearin' that mask, you gonna kill someone?"
Best of both worlds?
And I did see a bunch of people wearing masks today, especially on the subway.

To be fair, both comments did indicate possible imminent murder.

I've had a bit of an unexpected work update (well, work-adjacent).
There's a charity in the UK called IP Inclusive who represent and push for everything EDI related in my industry (intellectual property). They put a call out around this time last year to form a working group looking at why people in business services roles (i.e. non-attorneys) didn't really engage with them much. I signed up at the time and have been working with them since to trial some pilot events, write some publicity stuff around the group and generally the idea that people in non-fee earning roles are just as integral to the industry as the fee earners.
We've this month become a fully fledged official community within the charity itself, and this is our area - championing business services roles and looking at events and content which is important and useful to them.
.... the unexpected (though lovely) bit was the working group unanimously picked me and another lady to co-lead the committee, and we've ended up with another ten volunteers to be on it too. My co-lead is absolutely lovely (and far more gregarious than me, so we make a well matched pair of different strengths) and I'm feeling very warm and fuzzy about the whole thing.
It feels like a bit of a full circle moment for someone who spent years in traditional law being treated like a monkey that talks for lack of a university education and the rather entrenched view that the "support staff" are essentially the peasantry. IP is much, much better on that front but not without its own blind spots and prejudices - and now I get to help push back.
It does mean I have to use Linkedin (yuck), but that feels like a small price to pay.

I very much detest the elitism regarding lawyer and non-lawyer at firms. It pops up over and over again, because some people treat it like a perk. I'm sorry you've faced that and I'm glad there's good compatriots in working against it - plus possibly networking to find a better job someday.

Thank you amph - it's interesting (if sad) that this is a universal problem that crosses international lines. I assumed in the UK there's something of the British obsession with "class" involved in it. I don't know where the idea that a job role makes you better or worse than another person crept in, but it's a deeply unpleasant idea whatever role you apply it to.

Me and my girlfriend are now healthy! All squared away. We are now at 31 pets! We took in a feral cat of maybe 5 months old and its popped out babies like 6 weeks later. We are socializing these 3 kittens at 4 weeks. We decided to keep one and momma..but momma is very feral still..worse now
Come to the conclusion kitten therapy should be a thing.
