Merry Christmas, you rascals.
I am relaxed for the first time in what feels like months. I haven't done anything the last two days beyond presents, pyjamas and occasionally using my nails to break apart stuck lego pieces. Kiddo has built some awesome Star Wars sets that I've been flying from the comfort of my lazy chair.
Vaguely supposed to be hitting the roads to visit family over the rest of the holidays but we haven't officially arranged anything and I'm working on the excuse to get out of it all.
My third bad thing from the groove thread didn't happen. I think it happened before I crashed my car. Two days earlier I had stood in dog poo and had trod it around everywhere before I realised. So that could have been worse.

Funny how I have to force myself to eat when I fast.
Especially to eat chocolate. Psyllium husks, (unsweetened) vitamin D gels, and my daily recommended allotment of salt are a bit easier to down.
I don't notice significant bitterness in the pure raw cocoa powder though---it tastes okay, especially with a bit of (sugarless) cinnamon, sometimes even a lil' rosemary and mint and ginger (what a feast of effectively 0 calorie spices, medieval lords of parts of Europe might envy me this bounty)---but it is very very filling.
Feeling very good though, and amused by the situation.

Last five minutes of my five day fast... and I don't even feel hungry at all.
Thankfully I noticed each time I started unconsciously chewing off a tiny piece of my lip and had been on the verge of swallowing it. No blood from it either.

I've moved in with my partner of a year and a half. The entire relationship has been a legit dream come true in terms of mutual admiration/enjoyment/support, stability, intensity developing smoothly, and excellent problem solving that's navigated family and friends combining, health issues that popped up, and ensuring we're on the same page.
I am thrilled this is happening with my specific partner because she's amazing. There is also an element that's important in that we have both left crappy marriages in which we thought we were strong enough to carry the burden of 1.5 or even 1.8 lives, do almost all the housework, and fix the other person's issues while having a full time job - well, it was misery and didn't work out for either of us. After those marriages crumbled years ago, neither of us got bitter, we made sure that we were dating healthily, checked to see if there was a facade in any place, broke up with people when it was time, kept going, found each other, and got to do well placed conversations about values, goals, and commitment at the right stages.
I am very lucky and I've had such fun creating great times with her. She's feeling the same. The ease with which this is all happening is so wonderful that I'm finding myself protecting it intelligently and nicely.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Welp! I’m engaged to one of my best friends ever! Chuck and I have known each other for over 30 years and finally realized we are madly in love. We are getting married 2/28!

I'm an ordained religious officiant in six different pantheons, two eldritch cults, and the state of Ohio. I can do your ceremony for a nominal fee, online is cheaper, astral projection slightly more but includes tshirts.

Congrats LB.
Excuse the confusion, but do you mean sometime in February 2028, or 28 February 2026?

I’m sure we can come up with an appropriate sacrifice for the astral projection ceremony.

Thank you for the translation.
