My youngest just slept through the night for the first time.

Sleep! Glorious uninterrupted sleep!

After the mild panic attack at why they haven't made noise all night.

I'm on the cusp of the no-sleep parenting thing soon, so posts like this give me hope that one day, one day...she will sleep through the night and the wife and I will eventually return to Slumberland for more than a few hours at a time. LOL

Good to hear you got some solid sleep!

My mum leaves tomorrow and we get the spare room back. I'm booked in there for Friday night. Baby PigDog is a pretty good sleeper for now though. Four weeks old tomorrow and he does one spell of 5hrs sleep every night. Really hope it keeps going because he was really chilled during the day at first but it's going downhill rapidly :Rodeo:

And congrats Ando!

I'm hoping we're lucky too...but I'm not holding my breath. LOL

My wife met him, and said he was one of the nicest actors she has ever met. Enjoy!

Had a fantastic Holiday in June - 2 weeks back in Brisbane staying with a good friend with far too many late night chats; my 2 favourite people married each other (and permission for photos posted here has been given); caught up with most of my Brissy friends; went on a week tour of central Australia (so amazing) and a couple of days with my folks in Adelaide.

Life is good :Rodeo:

Hopefully you'll get lucky.

My brother had 2 that slept through the night almost from the get go. My first woke up 3-4 times a night and took 1-2 hours to put back down every time...for a year. That was a long year. And the 2 times we tried sleep training she screamed until she threw up, so yeah.

The 2nd was much easier.

Luckily, even if they're horrible sleepers, theyre so amazing in every other way its not that bad. Except at 3 in the morning, when you've rocked them for an hour, and put her in bed, crawl in your bed, and juuuuuust when your about to fall back asleep, they start crying. Thats when you roll over and say, your turn.

Hopefully yours likes to snooze!

Both myself and my wife were easy sleepers when we were infants according to our mothers...so we kind of hope our kid will will be the same...but we'll probably get hit with a curveball kid who is nothing like us. LOL

Just ate a meal without a wailing infant in my arms or wearing him in a sling (he's had all kinds of food on his head) and now sat in silence. Aaahhhhhhhhh.

The last 48 hours have been the most amazing, long, wonderful, terrifying time in my life. It all started with Mrs Kitsu getting induced like I mentioned in the groove thread. From that point on, it was about 27 hours until she had the baby. I'm split between thinking that my wife is amazing and insane because she ended up going unmedicated beyond the induction drugs. I know a couple of you on here work in a hospital setting and have mentioned frustration with the "madwives" but our experience with them was nothing but good. We're in a very liberal city though which has managed to draw a lot of good ones to it due to the warm receptions to them in our hospitals. Also because of the midwives, she was able to use a birthing-tub and have a water-birth. That tub was a god-send. It took her from wanting to ask for an epidural to being able to cope and push out the baby about an hour and a half later. Also, our little one had her caul intact up until the very last push, which is apparently very rare. I'm just crazy amped up right now, and can't believe amazing all of this feels.

Also, I got a few hours of rest today while the Mrs was feeding, and I'm writing this up while she and the little one are sleeping. I'm trying to stay up to help buy her a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep if I can. So far, so good.

Finally, one other thought... Do any of the long-timers here remember if there has been a baby thread started up at some point that we could res? I know Mez had her little one not too long ago, and I get the impression that QT's wife isn't too far off either. A ded-thread for babies could be a great resource to those of us going through this.

Oh yeah, the little one was 7lbs 2oz, 20 inches long, and the wife finally settled on a name I proposed months ago - Katherine.

So approximately 3,5 kg and 50 cm? This units are strange. But sounds like everything is okay. :)

Congrats Kitsu.

Making me happy? 25 minutes to go then I am off for the next 13 days.

Fun time off ahead, sons birthday party tomorrow (god those things are expensive) then his birthday proper on Monday (son is going to be 5) so I am thoroughly looking forward to a well earned rest and family time.

To top off the good mood I have an interview for another job the week after I return so fingers crossed.
